Derry-Londonderry, the UK City of Culture 2013, is to welcome the UK’s most prestigious modern art prize. The Turner Prize will form one of the highlights of the 2013 programme - and it will be the first time the prize has left Britain’s shore.

Recruiting leadership

In the same week as this announcement, the Culture Company set up to deliver the programme has opened recruitment for a non-executive board and a full-time Director.

Declan McGonagle, Interim Chair of the Culture Company, explained: “We’ve already established successful partnership links locally and internationally. The Turner Prize coming to the city for 2013 is an indication of the potential that exists.”
