Traffic bulletin: overnight lane closures on the northbound M1 in Bedfordshire for essential repairs

Road users are advised that there will be lane closures on northbound M1 between Milton Keynes and Northampton for five nights from tonight (Thursday 16 July) for essential repairs.

The work, which will consist of urgent carriageway repairs to a 2km section of the northbound M1 between junctions 14 and 15, will take place as follows:

  • Thursday 16 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons
  • Friday 17 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons Saturday 18 July: northbound lanes 1,2 and 3 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on the hard shoulder for safety reasons
  • Sunday 19 July northbound lanes 1,2 and 3 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on the hard shoulder for safety reasons
  • Monday 20 July: northbound hard shoulder and lanes 1 and 2 closed between 10pm and 6am, a temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place on lane 3 for safety reasons Motorists affected by this work are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
