The UK National School of Government International Experts visited Uzbekistan
Senior officials from the UK National School of Government International met with state and international organisations to discuss reform processes in Uzbekistan.
Alan Whaites, Senior Adviser and Head of Profession, and Leila Brosnan, International Adviser, of the UK National School of Government International (NSGI) visited Uzbekistan on 6 – 15 December 2017.
The NSGI is a cross-cutting civil service unit in the UK that provides advisory and capacity-building support in governance and centre of government reform to overseas governments, using a practitioner-to-practitioner model of support that is adapted to local priorities and the local context.
During their visit Alan Whaites and Leila Brosnan met with a number of state and international organisations, including: the State Agency for Project Management under the President of Uzbekistan; the Centre for Strategy Development; the Chamber of Audit; the Academy of Public Administration under the President; the Institute for Monitoring of Current Legislation under the President of Uzbekistan; the Ministry of Justice; the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communication; the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research under the Cabinet of Ministers; the Agency for Science and Technologies; Tashkent State Law University; UNDP; World Bank; GIZ; EBRD and others.
During the meetings the NSGI experts discussed the reform process underway in Uzbekistan and the future prospects for UK support for these reforms.
On his visit to Uzbekistan Alan Whaites, Senior Adviser and Head of Profession of NSGI, said:
