Strategic Agreement between EL AL Israel Airlines and Rolls-Royce
Israeli airline EL AL automobile maker Rolls-Royce plc signed a strategic agreement, the largest ever export deal to Israel.
Another testimony for the flourishing commercial ties between the UK and Israel: Israeli airline EL AL, and automobile maker Rolls-Royce plc signed a strategic agreement, the largest ever export deal to Israel.
Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce President - Civil Aerospace at in the UK , Tami Borovich, Vice Chairman of El Al and David Maimon, President & CEO of EL AL Israel Airlines celebrated the signing of the agreement in which Rolls-Royce will supply the service maintenance and support for the Trent 1000 engines on the Dreamliners. Participating in the ceremony was the Ambassador of Britain in Israel, His Excellency David Quarrey.
The agreement is an integral aspect of the aircraft acquisition renewal program announced by EL AL Israel Airlines in October in which 15 new Dreamliners will join the fleet with options for an additional 13 aircraft. The aircraft will begin arriving at EL AL in mid-2017.
EL AL would like to add a special thank you to the British Ambassador in Israel David Quarrey and UK Trade & Investment team in the embassy for their contribution in making this deal.
With the announcement of the aircraft program, EL AL also announced the selection of Rolls-Royce as the supplier of the engines for these aircraft.
