Passports and visas

  • British citizens don’t need a visa to travel to ICELAND for visits of less than three months, but your passport should be valid for at least three months after the date of entry
  • Iceland is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), so don’t forget your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC); but also take out travel insurance, even if you’re only going for one night - it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties

Getting to the stadium

  • The Samsung Stadium is in Garðabær, around 15 minute drive from Reykjavík city centre
  • Bus number 1 goes from Reykjavík city centre to Garðabær (the bus stops close to the Samsung Stadium). It is also possible to take bus number 1 if staying in Hafnarfjörður. Make sure you have exact change of 400 Icelandic Króna (ISK). Further information on the bus schedule can be found on www.straeto.is

At the match

  • for spectator safety reasons, don’t travel to the Samsung Stadium unless you have an official ticket for this fixture located within the Celtic support
  • access is provided by gate entry controlled by stewards and fans are liable to be searched before entering the stadium; all bags will be searched
  • alcohol is prohibited within the stadium and smoking is not allowed
  • allow sufficient time to enter the stadium; the stadium will be open to spectators from 6:15pm on match day

Spectator safety

  • Stjarnan FC have advised that banners and flags positively supporting either team will be welcome in their stadium
  • stadium regulations are similar to those at British football stadiums including Celtic Park; fireworks and pyrotechnics aren’t allowed in the stadium, apart from being dangerous, if you set off a firework or flare it could expose your club to disciplinary action by UEFA
