The UK Government was dismayed to hear that three MONUSCO peacekeepers had been killed, and six others wounded, in the early hours of 18 August at Kirumba in North Kivu. We present our condolences to the families of the bereaved, and hopes for a swift recovery to the families of the injured. It is appalling that UN peacekeeepers have been targeted in this manner, but we are confident that MONUSCO will continue the good work they have been doing under very difficult circumstances.”
