I would like to extend my warm congratulations to Carrie Lam on her election as the next Chief Executive of Hong Kong by the Election Committee. I look forward to working closely with her administration to strengthen further the deep relationship and cooperation between the UK and Hong Kong.
Hong Kong’s continued prosperity and success under ‘One Country, Two Systems’ is important to the UK and our longstanding commitment to Hong Kong as a co-signatory of the Joint Declaration is as strong as ever.
