A lucky motorist from Bridgewater has won a brand new car worth over £10,000 after renewing his vehicle tax online.
A lucky motorist from Bridgewater has won a brand new eco-friendly car worth over £10,000 after renewing his car tax online.
Ian Prescott, a 53 year old controlling operative for Clark’s shoes, used the DVLA online service to tax his car and was automatically entered into a free prize draw to win one of three SEAT Ibiza 1.2 TDI CR Ecomotive 75PS cars that are given away each month.
Mr Prescott, who is married with 3 children, picked up his car from Taunton SEAT, on 16th November. He said:
I am over the moon. At first I thought it was a mistake or a hoax, but then I checked the website and my name was there. My win has come at the right time as I have a 30 mile round trip to work every day, so the new car will make the journey more economical.
Mr Prescott added:
I always use the online service to tax my car because it’s so easy, and the system automatically checks everything like MOT and insurance, so it’s very helpful.

The SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive was chosen for the prize draw because it met DVLA’s criteria (cars provided free of charge for a monthly prize draw, NCAP Safety Standards, low emissions, car tax bands A or B).
The prize draw initiative is part of a marketing strategy, to encourage motorist to use DVLA’s Electronic Vehicle Licensing system, which has won both National and European Business Awards.
