SLC launches new Graduate Programme
Applications are now open for SLC's Autumn 2026 Graduate Programme.
The Student Loans Company (SLC) is helping to develop the next generation of technology, data and business professionals as it opens applications for its Autumn 2026 Graduate Programme.
The organisation which employs more than 3000 people across four sites in Glasgow, Hillington, Darlington and Llandudno Junction, is offering a number of opportunities for graduates to join a two‑year rotational programme designed to build skills, experience and specialist knowledge across the organisation.
Starting in October 2026, successful applicants will spend 24 months gaining hands‑on experience within one of six key business areas – Customer Operations (within the Organisational Optimisation, Enablement and Knowledge team); Data Centre of Excellence; Economic Crime Unit; Cyber Security; Software Delivery; and Change.
The programme is structured to ensure graduates gain exposure to critical business projects and develop their skills through both workplace learning and structured modules. Participants will be supported throughout by experienced colleagues and dedicated mentors, helping them build confidence and progress quickly.
Gillian Brydie, SLC Executive Director of People, said:
“Our Graduate Programme offers a fantastic opportunity for talented individuals to begin their careers at SLC. Over two years, graduates will build their skills, gain hands‑on experience across different areas of the organisation, and contribute to work that makes a real difference to our customers. We are delighted to open applications for the 2026 intake and look forward to welcoming our next cohort as they grow and develop with us.”
Daniel Young joined SLC’s Graduate Programme in 2021 as a Graduate Project Support Officer within the Project Management Office. He now has a permanent role as a Junior Project Manager and is encouraging others to apply.
He said: “SLC’s Graduate Programme is fantastic. If you grab every opportunity, you’ll be rewarded with greater responsibility and more chances to learn. The support from leadership and peers with my career development was incredible, and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped me along the way.”
