SIA response to the publication of the independent review of the disclosure and barring regime
The Security Industry Authority's response to the report and recommendations of the independent review carried out by Simon Bailey CBE, QPM
The SIA has noted the review’s recommendations for enhanced DBS checks to be carried out on individuals applying for either a door supervisor or close protection licence.
The SIA was consulted as part of this review. We presented both the benefits and consequences of a decision taken to move to enhanced checks; this is outlined in the published report from the review.
The recommendations of this review are now with the Home Office for their consideration.
