Secretary of State condemns IED attack in Tullycarnet

On Friday 8 November, the PSNI recovered a viable explosive device from the underside of a car belonging to a former police officer.

Theresa Villiers said:

This morning’s IED attack on a retired PSNI officer in east Belfast is another example of these terrorists’ complete disregard for the safety of local people.

The PSNI work hard to keep communities safe and secure across all of Northern Ireland and they have widespread support, unlike those responsible for this reckless attack.

I urge anyone with information about this despicable crime to come forward and speak to the PSNI.
