Queen’s birthday honours list 2015: local government, housing, fire, voluntary and community sectors

Communities Secretary Greg Clark has today congratulated everyone from local government, housing, fire services, the voluntary and community sectors recognised in this year’s Queen’s birthday honours list.

It is great to see so many individuals from the local government, housing, fire and voluntary sectors given this enormous accolade. I pay tribute to all of these dedicated people who work so tirelessly for their community. Well done to all of them.

Local Government

  • Councillor Elaine Atkinson, former leader of Poole Borough Council, receives an OBE for services to Local Government
  • Councillor Teresa O’Neill, Leader, Bexley Borough Council and Vice Chair and Conservative Group Leader, London Councils receives an OBE for services to the community and Local Government in London
  • Mrs Cheryl Coppell, Chief Executive, London Borough of Havering receives an OBE for services to Local Government
  • Councillor Claire Kober Leader, Haringey Borough Council receives an OBE for services to Local Government
  • Councillor Elaine Woodburn, former Leader, Copeland Council receives an MBE for services to Local Government
  • Mrs Jean Goad District and Parish Councillor, Arun District, West Sussex receives a MBE for services to Local Government
  • Councillor Robert Davis Deputy Leader, Westminster Council receives a MBE for services to Planning and Local Government
  • Councillor Robert Boyce, Maldon District Council receives a MBE for services to Local Government
  • Councillor and Deputy Mayor Lesley Jones, Brent Council receives a MBE for services to Local Government

  • Councillor Frank Delderfield receives a BEM for services to the communities in Great Totham and Maldon, Essex

  • Mrs Natalie Elphicke Chair, Million Homes Million Lives receives an OBE for services to Housing
  • Mr James Jukes Founder, UK Homes 4 Heroes receives a MBE for services to the Homeless
  • Mr James O’Connor Chief Executive, Noah Enterprises receives a MBE for services to Homeless People in Luton

  • Mr Gregory Clark, Global Cities Advisor, receives a CBE for services to Economic Development
  • Councillor James McMahon, Leader, Oldham Council receives an OBE for services to the Community in Oldham
  • Reverend Canon Cynthia Dowdle Dean of Women’s Ministry, Liverpool receives an OBE for services to Gender Equality and Social Cohesion
