Queen's Birthday Honours List 2011
Congratulations to all local government and fire service staff who have had their commitment and dedication reflected in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Local Government Minister Grant Shapps said:
I would like to congratulate all those in local government and the fire service who have been given well deserved recognition for all their hard work in local communities across the country.

- Edward Lister - Leader, Wandsworth Council, receives a Knighthood for services to local government
- Richard Kemp - Vice Chairman, Local Government Association, receives a CBE for public service
- Anthony McGuirk - Chief Fire Officer, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, receives a CBE for services to local government
- Joanna Simons - Chief Executive, Oxfordshire County Council, receives a CBE for services to local government
- Rodney Chambers - Leader, Medway Council, receives an OBE for services to local government
- Frank Duffield - Chief Fire Officer, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, receives an OBE for services to local government
- Charles Lord - Lead for Equalities and Social Inclusion, Local Government Association, receives an OBE for public service
- Ian Lowrie - Chief Executive, Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council, receives an OBE for services to local government in West Sussex
- Mark Sanders - Chief Executive, Bury Council, receives an OBE for services to local government
- Jill Shortland receives an OBE for services to local government in Somerset
- Robert Bond - Employee Relations Manager, London Fire Brigade, receives a QFSM
- Martin Hoole - Firefighter, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, receives a QFSM

- Christopher Denard - Head of Trading Standards, Surrey County Council, receives a MBE for services to local government and to consumers
- William Dixon receives a MBE for services to local government in Darlington, County Durham
- Dora Dixon-Fyle receives a MBE for services to local government in the London Borough of Southwark
- David Duckett - Watch Manager, Southam Fire Station, receives a MBE for services to the community in Warwickshire
