Carole Sweeney visited Uruguay.

During her visit she met with representatives of the National Oil Company ANCAP and the National Department of Energy amongst other government officials.

Carole also had the chance to meet national companies during a presentation she gave at the Ambassador’s residence: “British commercial experience in oil and gas - an opportunity for Uruguay”.

This presentation promoted UK’s successful 40 year experience in the oil and gas sector and highlighted UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) experience developing partnerships and supply chains in international markets.

A wide range of companies participated in the event. They gained an insight into the potential commercial opportunities that may arise in Uruguay if ongoing offshore seismic exploration being carried out by leading international oil companies, including BP, BG and Tullow, identify commercially viable reserves of oil and gas.
