Maricarmen Larrauri, Business Development Manager of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Lima, took part in the International Business Exchange at All-Energy 2014 event in Aberdeen, Scotland, to present the business opportunities in Peru for UK companies in consultancy and supply of goods and services in diverse projects of renewable energies, such as solar, biomass, hydropower and wind energy.

Peru is now undergoing a process of auctions for supplying clean energies to the national grid. The national regulator, OSINERGMIN, is legally committed to hold a round of auctions of renewable energy generation every 2 years, and therefore, there are currently a large number of opportunities for UK investors, consultants and suppliers. There are also private projects underway, such as the requirement of energy for mining projects in remote areas, which is a big challenge.

All-Energy is the UK´s largest renewable energy exhibition and conference and one of the world´s highest profile clean energy events. It is a globally important showcase for the latest development in sustainable, low carbon energy technologies.

UKTI invited visitors and exhibitors to join the UKTI stand to speak with Commercial Officers from 27 countries about opportunities for business in the renewable energy sector in their respective markets. UKTI seeks to help UK based companies succeed in an increasingly global economy and this is one good example of how we are all in this. We look forward to helping UK companies enter the renewable energy sector in Peru. For more information please contact maricarmen.larrauri@fco.gov.uk
