Prime Minister's Norouz message

Prime Minister David Cameron has sent a message to Iranians around the world on the occasion of Norouz - Persian New Year.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

On the occasion of Norouz - Persian New Year - the Prime Minister has sent the following message to Iranians around the world.

I want to present my best wishes to all Iranians, in Iran and throughout the world, for a joyful Norouz and a very Happy New Year.

Norouz is a time of new beginnings and new hope: a time when light overcomes darkness and life prevails over death. I hope that Iran’s leaders will show that they value this opportunity as much as the Iranian people do, by supporting their basic rights and their aspirations for a better future.

At Norouz we should remember and celebrate the strength and vibrancy of Iran’s people, the country’s rich culture and promising younger generation that are so full of life and potential, just like spring itself. I hope that this year of 1391 will be a year of hope for both our nations; hope of a future of mutual respect and prosperity for our peoples.
