Press briefing: afternoon 24 February

The Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on Owen Patterson and Scottish independence.

When asked for an update on the return of the Secretary of State for Defra, the PMS said that it was an individual health matter for Defra to provide an update on, but that his understanding was he was taking the advice of those treating him.

Scottish independence

Asked if the PM had sent a note of thanks to David Bowie following the Brit Awards, the PMS said he was aware that the PM had watched the Brits, but was not aware of any correspondence between the pair.
