The Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson answered questions on the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse and extremist online material.

Independent panel inquiry into child sexual abuse

When asked about the independent panel inquiry into child sexual abuse, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson (PMOS) said the Prime Minister had been clear that he had full confidence in Fiona Woolf leading the inquiry.

Extremist online material

With regard to a meeting with internet companies, the PMOS said that the head of the Downing Street Policy Unit, Jo Johnson, would host a meeting with internet service providers and search engines including Google, Facebook and BT with the aim of encouraging greater collective action on the removal of extremist material.
