Reshuffle

Asked about the final list of appointments of women into Ministerial roles, the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) said there has been an increase in the representation of women in government. He added that this was a long-standing ambition of the Prime Minister and that we are seeing progress being made in this area.

When asked about Michael Gove, the PMS said that as Chief Whip he would be right at the heart of the Ministerial team.

Asked about who was involved in reshuffle decisions, the PMS said the Prime Minister makes his own decisions.

European Commission

When asked about the UK’s nomination for the European Commissioner, the PMS said that Lord Hill was a good choice for getting successful outcomes and he would command respect in Brussels. He added that the Prime Minister would be attending the European Council on Wednesday.
