Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – weekly summary for Monday 29 June to Sunday 5 July

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 26 June and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane for 4 nights from Wednesday 1 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

M1 junction 34 Tinsley to junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The southbound entry slip road at junction 35a will be closed overnight on Wednesday 1 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for two nights between junctions 40 and 41 from Monday 29 June, and for three nights between junctions 39 and 40 from Friday 3 July. The northbound side of the motorway will also be closed overnight for two nights between junctions 40 and 41 from Wednesday 1 July. The northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 30 June, and the southbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed overnight on Friday 3 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 junctions 3 to 4 Doncaster

The southbound side of the motorway between junctions 3 and 4 will be closed overnight for barrier work on Friday 3 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 junction 22 Saddleworth to junction 24 Huddersfield

The westbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 29 June for 5 nights so that new road markings can be painted and reflective road studs can be installed.

M62 junction 25 Brighouse

The eastbound entry slip road at junction 25 will be closed overnight for maintenance work from 8pm on Monday 29 June until 6am on Tuesday 30 June. Drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight for 7 nights from Monday 29 June. The closures will take place between 7pm and 6am, and until 9am on Sunday 5 July. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes. There will also be a 30mph speed limit in place until April 2016 while work takes place to add a third lane to the roundabout.

M62 junction 29 Lofthouse

The eastbound entry slip road at junction 29 will be closed overnight for maintenance work from 8pm on Tuesday 30 June until 6am on Wednesday 1 July. Drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M621 junction 7 Stourton

The clockwise exit slip road at junction 7 will be closed for maintenance work between 5am and 10am on Saturday 4 July. A clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

M621 junction 4 Hunslet

The clockwise exit slip road at junction 4 will be closed for maintenance work between 5am and 10am on Sunday 5 July. A clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

A64 Grimston Bar

The westbound exit slip road at Grimston Bar will be closed overnight for maintenance work on Monday 29 June between 8pm and 6am. Drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

A64 Tadcaster to Bramham

The westbound side of the A64 from Tadcaster to Bramham will be closed overnight for maintenance work on Tuesday 30 June between 10pm and 5am. Drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion.

A1 Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar

The southbound side of the A1 from Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar will be closed overnight for two nights for resurfacing work from Saturday 4 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
