Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – weekly summary for Monday 20 July to Sunday 26 July

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 17 July and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, for 5 nights from Monday 20 July, and the southbound carriage will be reduced to single lane for 6 nights from the same date.

M1 junction 34 Tinsley to junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The northbound entry slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Thursday 23 July, and the northbound entry slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight on Friday 24 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 July, and the southbound exit slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight on Friday 24 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight on Monday 20 July between junctions 41 and 42. The northbound carriageway between junctions 41 and 42, and the northbound exit slip road at junction 40, will also be closed overnight for two nights from Tuesday 21 July. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight on Thursday 23 July between junctions 40 and 41, and the northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight for two nights from Thursday 23 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 41 will also be closed overnight on Friday 24 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 junction 3 Doncaster to junction 4 Doncaster

The southbound side of the motorway between junctions 3 and 4 will be closed overnight for 5 nights for resurfacing work from Monday 20 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 junction 25 Brighouse to junction 26 Bradford

The eastbound side of the motorway between junctions 26 and 27 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on Tuesday 21 July, between 8pm and 6am, for technology work.

M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place at the junction until April 2016 while work takes place to add an extra lane to the roundabout. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 20 July. The eastbound entry slip road and the ‘2+ lane’ on the M62 will also be closed between 8pm and 9am on Saturday 25 July, and between 8pm and 6am on Sunday 26 July. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M62 junction 26 Bradford to junction 27 Leeds

The eastbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, from 8pm to 6am, for technology work between junctions 26 and 27 on Monday 20 July.

M62 junction 27 Leeds to junction 28 Dewsbury

The eastbound side of the motorway between junctions 26 and 27 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on Wednesday 22 July, between 8pm and 6am, for technology work.

M621 junction 7 Stourton

The anticlockwise entry slip road at junction 7 will be closed for maintenance work between 5am and 10am on Saturday 25 July, and the clockwise exit slip road will be closed on Sunday 26 July between the same times. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A64 Hopgrove to Grimston

The westbound side of the A64 from Hopgrove to Grimston will be closed overnight for resurfacing work for two nights from Monday 20 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A64 Headley Bar

The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight at Headley Bar for two nights from Monday 20 July while the council resurfaces the roundabout. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound carriageway be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 21 July, and the single carriageway on the A160 from Ulceby to Brocklesby will be closed overnight on Wednesday 22 July. The westbound exit slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will also be closed from 6am on Wednesday 22 July until August 2016, and the eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will be closed from 6am on Thursday 23 July until August 2016. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.
