Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – weekly summary for Monday 13 July to Sunday 19 July

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 10 July and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for 2 nights from Monday 13 July and then for a further two nights from Friday 17 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane running overnight for three nights from Friday 17 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight for two nights from Monday 13 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 34 Tinsley to junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The southbound entry slip road at junction 36 will be closed overnight on Monday 13 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 14 July. The southbound entry slip road at junction 41 and the southbound exit slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Friday 17 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for two nights between junctions 39 and 40 on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 July. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for three nights between junctions 41 and 42 from Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 July. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight on Monday 13 July between junctions 40 and 41. The northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Friday 17 July. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight on the Saturday 18 July between junction 41 and 42. The northbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed overnight on the Sunday 19 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 junction 3 Doncaster to junction 4 Doncaster

The northbound side of the motorway between junctions 3 and 4 will be closed overnight for barrier work on the Monday 13 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M18 junction 4 Armthorpe to junction 5 Ings

The northbound side of the motorway between junctions 4 and 5 will be closed overnight for barrier work on the Friday 17 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in April 2016. The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 13 July.

M62 junction 37 Howden to junction 38 North Cave

The westbound side of the motorway between junction 37 to junction 38 will be closed overnight on Monday 13 July. A permanent lane 1 will be in place until the barrier works are completed. The closure will take place between 5am and 10am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

M62 junction 26 Chainbar to junction 27 Gildersome

The eastbound side of the motorway between junction 26 to junction 27 will be reduced to a single lane overnight on Monday 13 July, between 8pm and 6am, for technology works. M621 Junction 5 Tunstall

The anticlockwise exit slip road at junction 5 will be closed for routine works early morning on Saturday 18 July & Sunday 19 July. The closures will take place between 5am and 10am, with a clearly signed diversion route.

A64 Hopgrove to Grimston

The westbound side of the trunk road from Hopgrove to Grimston will be closed overnight for resurfacing works four nights from the Monday 13 July. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
