Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – summary for Monday 8 June to Sunday 14 June

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 5 June and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The southbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Monday 8 June, and the northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed for two nights from Tuesday 9 June. The southbound exit slip road at junction 30 will also be closed overnight on Wednesday 10 June and then again on Saturday 13 June. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane for two nights from Monday 8 June and for one night on Friday 12 June. The southbound side will also be reduced to a single lane overnight on Monday 8 June, and for five nights from Wednesday 10 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversions.

M1 Junction 34 Tinsley to Junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. Both sides of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane between junctions 34 and 35a for two nights from Monday 8 June. Drivers will also be diverted off and then back on the motorway at junction 35 overnight on Monday 8 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for two nights between junctions 40 and 41 from Monday 8 June, for three nights between junctions 39 and 40 from Friday 12 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.

M18 Junction 2 (A1(M) interchange) to Junction 5 (M180 interchange) Doncaster

The southbound side of the motorway between junctions 4 and 5 will be closed overnight for two nights for resurfacing work from Monday 8 June. The northbound side will also be closed between the exit and entry slip roads at junction 2 overnight on Wednesday 10 June, and the southbound side will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads at junction 3 overnight on Thursday 11 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly-signed diversions will be in place.

M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

The slip roads and roundabout at the junction will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 8 June. There will also be a 30mph speed limit in place until April 2016 while work takes place to add a third lane to the roundabout.

M62 Junction 29 Lofthouse to Junction 30 Rothwell

The westbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 8 June for technology work.

M62 Junction 31 Normanton

The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight for two nights on Monday 8 June and the westbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 10 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow a clearly-signed diversion route.

M62 Junction 32a Castleford to Junction 33 Knottingley

The eastbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for two nights, between 8pm and 6am, from Tuesday 9 June while work is carried out to replace road markings and reflective road studs. The westbound side will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for two nights from Thursday 11 June.

M62 Junction 33 Knottingley to Junction 34 Selby

The westbound side of the motorway will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 8 June while work is carried out to replace road markings and reflective road studs.

M181 Scunthorpe

The northbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight on Tuesday 9 June while work is carried out to replace road markings and reflective road studs. The southbound side will also be closed overnight on Wednesday 10 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

A1 Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar

The southbound side of the motorway from Ferrybridge to Barnsdale Bar will be closed overnight for two nights for resurfacing work from Saturday 13 June. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly-signed diversion will be in place.

A64 Pickering Interchange

The eastbound exit slip road at Pickering Interchange will be closed overnight on Monday 8 June between 8pm and 6am while work take place to replace signs. A diversion will be in place.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The roundabout will be closed at Manby from 8pm on Saturday 13 June until 10am on Sunday 14 June, with a diversion in place. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016.
