Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber – summary for Monday 4 to Sunday 10 May

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 1 May and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed. The project is due to be completed in the autumn.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn 2015. The northbound side of the motorway between junctions 40 and 41 will be closed overnight for construction work on Thursday 7 May. The carriageway will then be closed between the same junctions on Friday 8 May. The northbound side between junctions 41 and 42 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 6 and Saturday 9 May. The southbound side will also be closed overnight on Saturday 9 May between the same junctions. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and clearly signed diversions will be in place.

M18 Junction 2 (A1(M) interchange) to Junction 3 Doncaster

Both sides of the motorway will be reduced to one lane for widening work between 8pm and 6am from Tuesday 5 until Friday 8 May.

M62 Junction 34 Whitley

The slip roads at junction 34 will be closed overnight for resurfacing work from 8pm on Thursday 7 May until 6am on Friday 8 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place.

M180 Junction 3 (M181 interchange) to Junction 4 Scunthorpe

The westbound side of the motorway will be closed overnight for three nights from Tuesday 5 May for bridge maintenance work. The carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am, and a clearly signed diversion will be in place.

A64 Askham Bar, York

The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight for two nights, between 8pm and 6am, from Tuesday 5 May for maintenance work. A clearly signed diversion will be in place.

A180/A160 Brocklesby Interchange, Humberside

A series of overnight closures will be in place for resurfacing work at the interchange from Tuesday 5 until Monday 18 May. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
