Planned roadworks in Yorkshire and the Humber: summary for Monday 21 September to Sunday 27 September 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 18 September and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 30 Chesterfield to junction 31 Worksop

There are currently narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The hard shoulder is also closed, and the project is due to be completed in the autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 21 September then again on Wednesday 23 September and Saturday 26 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 21 September then again on Tuesday 22 September and Friday 25 September. The southbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed over night on Monday 21 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 32 Thurcroft to junction 33 Catcliffe

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The northbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 21 September then again on Wednesday 23 September and Saturday 26 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be reduced to single lane overnight on Monday 21 September then again on Tuesday 22 September and Friday 25 September. The northbound entry slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight on Saturday 26 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 34 Tinsley to junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The northbound side of the carriageway will be fully closed between the slip roads at junction 34 and the northbound exit slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Saturday 26 September (please note only one at a time will take place). The southbound side of the carriageway will be fully closed between the slip roads at junction 34 and the southbound entry slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Friday 25 September (please note only one at a time will take place). The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 junction 39 Denby Dale to junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in autumn. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 39 to junction 40 for 5 nights on Monday 21 September. The northbound entry slip road at junction 40 will be closed overnight on Saturday 26 September. The northbound exit slip road at junction 41 will be closed overnight for 2 nights on Tuesday 22 September. The northbound entry slip road at junction 41 will be closed overnight for 4 nights from Monday 21 September. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 39 to junction 40 overnight on Monday 21 September The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 41 to junction 42 overnight for 2 nights on Friday 25 September. The northbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 41 to junction 42 overnight on Saturday 26 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M18 junction 5 Doncaster to junction 6 Doncaster

The northbound side of the motorway between junctions 5 and 6 will be a single lane running for bridge works overnight on Wednesday 23 September. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M18 junction 3 Doncaster

The southbound exit and entry slip road will be closed overnight for 2 nights for further works from Monday 21 September. The southbound exit will be closed overnight for 2 nights from Wednesday 23 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M621 junction 1 Beeston

The anticlockwise carriageway will be closed overnight for five nights at junction 1 for bridge works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M621 junction 7 Stourton

The anticlockwise entry slip road will be closed for maintenance works on Saturday 26 September. The closures will take place between 5am and 9am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M621 junction 4 Hunslet

The clockwise entry slip road will be closed for maintenance works on Sunday 27 September. The closures will take place between 5am and 10am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A1M junction 36 Warmsworth

The northbound entry slip road and southbound exit slip road will be closed for bridge works overnight on Saturday 26 September. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A1 Darrington

The northbound exit and entry slip road will be closed for resurfacing works for 4 nights from Tuesday 22 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A1 Redhouse

The southbound slip road will be closed for tree cutting works for four nights from Monday 21 September. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A61 Westwood roundabout

The eastbound and westbound side of the A road will be closed between westwood and wentworth way for roundabout improvement works from Monday 21 September for 5 nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016 and the eastbound entry at Brocklesby will be closed until August 2016. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
