Planned roadworks in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 24 October to Sunday 30 October 2016
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 21 October 2016 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
A38 – Streethay northbound exit slip road and southbound entry slip road: carriageway work
Slip roads will be closed 24 hours a day from 24 July until 11 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Hilliards Cross exit slip road: carriageway work
Northbound exit slip road will be closed 24 hours a day from 24 August until 21 December. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Alrewas to Burton slip road: carriageway work
Northbound carriageway and entry slip road will be closed nightly, 7pm to 7am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Alrewas to Barton-under-Needwood: drainage work
Southbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from 26 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38M – M6 Links from out of city A38M: carriageway work
The Links from Out of City A38M will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38M – Tyburn Road merge onto A38M into City Aston Expressway (F-C Links): carriageway work
The road into City A38M will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 – Stonebridge highway, Stivichall Junction to Toll Bar End: bridge work
Carriageway will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from 24 October until 29 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A46 – M6 Junction 2 to A428: sign inspection and testing
Southbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 8.30pm to 6am, until 22 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A46 – Beckford: carriageway work
Carriageway will be closed in both directions, nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A49 – Wistanstow – Quarry Meadows (Cavern Arms): renewal of white lines and road studs
Carriageway will be closed in both directions nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 26 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 – A5006 – from Michelin roundabout and A500 northbound sideway slip road: material deliveries
Northbound carriageway and slip road closed nightly, 8pm to 6am from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 – Talke Island: bridge work
Westside of the Island will be closed for 24 hours a day from 19 September ongoing until 23 December. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5127 – Gravelly Hill merge onto A38M into City Aston Expressway (D-C Link: carriageway work
The slip into city Aston Expressway will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 – Stonebridge highway, Toll Bar End to Stivichall Junction: carriageway work
The westbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am from 24 October to 28 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 – junction 6 link road to A45: off network work
Carriageway will be closed overnight for one night from 8pm 29 October until 6am the following morning (30 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 – junction 4a to 5 southbound including M42 southbound link: carriageway work
Carriageway will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, on October 24 and 25. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 – junction 5 to 4a northbound including junction 5 northbound entry slip: carriageway work
Carriageway will be closed nightly, 8pm to 6am, from October 24 to October 28. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 – junction 2 exit slip road: carriageway work
Eastbound exit slip road closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 29 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 – junction 3 to Junction 2: carriageway work
Eastbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 9pm to 5am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 – M6 junction 10a to M54 junction 1: carriageway work
Northbound carriageway will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 27 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 6 Salford Circus to M6: re-waterproofing and structural repair
There will be a 24-hour carriageway closure in both directions until 23 December 2017. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 6 exit slip road: carriageway work
Southbound exit slip road will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 – junction 9 entry and exit slip roads: carriageway work
Southbound entry and exit slip road will be closed nightly, 9pm to 6am, from 24 October until 30 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 12 to junction 13 and all associated slip roads: carriageway work
Northbound carriageway and associated slip roads will be closed overnight for one night from 6.30pm 29 October until 10am the following morning (30 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 12 to junction 13 and junction 12 entry slip road: carriageway work
Northbound carriageway and slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 25 October until 6am the following morning (26 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 13 to junction 12 and junction 13 entry slip road: carriageway work
Southbound carriageway and slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 26 October until 6am the following morning (27 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 16 exit slip road: message sign repair
Northbound slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 26 October until 5am the following morning (27 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
