All four of the slip roads at the junction will also be closed for 4 nights from Wednesday 15 July, along with the A534 between Holmes Chapel Road and Congleton Road. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes. For further information go to the road project pages.

M6 junction 35 Lancaster to Burton Services

Nearly 3,000 new cat’s eyes are being installed on an 8 mile stretch of the M6 between Lancashire and Cumbria, improving visibility for drivers. White lines will also be repainted and sections of the motorway will be resurfaced. The northbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 35 will also be closed overnight on Wednesday 15 July, and the southbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 35 will be closed overnight on Thursday 16 July. Some overnight lane closures will be in place during the rest of the scheme but the motorway will remain open as normal. The project should be completed by the end of the month.

M53 junction 2 Moreton

A project is taking place to upgrade the bridges on the section of the M53 at junction 2, removing weight restrictions and reinstating lanes. The southbound exit and entry slip roads are currently closed to all traffic. A 50mph speed limit and narrow lanes are in place. The scheme is due to be completed by the end of August.

M56 junction 11 Daresbury

A major project is taking place to tackle congestion at junction 11 of the M56 near Daresbury. Clearly signed diversions will be in place when roads are closed.

A major scheme is taking place to cut congestion and improve journey times on parts of the M60 and the M62 in Greater Manchester. The scheme will require some overnight closures affecting the full carriageway and slip roads, with a 50mph limit in place for the safety of workers and drivers. On Saturday 11 July, the M60 will be closed overnight in both directions between junction 12 at the M62/M602 interchange and junction 13 at Worsley. The clockwise side of the M60 between junctions 9 and 10 near Trafford Park will also be closed overnight on Saturday 18 July, along with the anticlockwise side between junction 12 at the M62/M602 interchange and junction 10. The eastbound link roads from the M62 onto both sides of the M60 will also be closed during both Saturday nights. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes when sections of the motorway are closed. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2017. For further information go to the road project pages.
