The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 26 February but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M20 junctions 5 to 7, Maidstone, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to maintain safety on the M20 will start this week. A lane closure will be in place on the London-bound distributor road overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 29 February for 3 nights. A lane closure will be in place on the coastbound distributor road overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 3 March for 2 nights.

M20 junction 7, Maidstone, Kent: sign replacement

Work to improve journeys on the M20 will start this week. The London-bound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 29 February for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M20 coastbound carriageway. In addition, lane closures will be in place on the main London-bound carriageway with one lane remaining open to traffic during the same time.

A20 Dover, Kent: junction improvement work

Work by the Port of Dover to improve journeys on the A20 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place with one lane remaining open in both directions between the Limekiln and York Street roundabouts 24/7 for the duration of the works. In addition, there will be no right turns from the A20 eastbound on to Union Street and from Union Street on to the A20. Clearly signed diversions will be in place.

A21 Morleys roundabout, Tonbridge, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to maintain safety on the A21 will start this week. A lane closure will be in place on the London-bound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Saturday 5 March.

The lay bys will be closed in both directions at Morleys interchange from 6am on Sunday 6 March for 24 hours. The entry and exit slip roads on the London-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Saturday 5 March for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A21.

A21 Tonbridge to Pembury, Kent: major improvement

Work to improve journeys on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury continues this week. Two way traffic lights will be in place between the Vauxhall interchange and Longfield Road roundabout overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 29 February for 5 nights. In addition, a 40mph speed limit will remain in place 24/7 between the Vauxhall interchange and the A228.

A21 Vauxhall interchange to Lamberhurst Quarter, Kent: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys on the A21 at Vauxhall interchange and Lamberhurst Quarter will start this week. The London-bound entry and exit slip roads at the Vauxhall interchange will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Tuesday 1 March for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion for road users wishing to exit at the Vauxhall interchange will be in place via the A21 London-bound carriageway. A clearly signed diversion for road users wishing to join the A21 at the Vauxhall interchange will be in place via the A2014 and the A26.

The carriageway will be closed in both directions between the A21/A228 and Forstal Farm roundabout overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 3 March for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A265, A267 and the A264.

A27 Falmer Footbridge, East Sussex: bridge maintenance

Work to replace the ramp on the footbridge over the A27 at Falmer continues this week. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on the westbound carriageway and the outside lane of the westbound exit slip road will be closed 24/7 until the end of the scheme. Work is due to be complete in May 2016.

A27 Firle Park, East Sussex: resurfacing

Work to improve road safety on the A27 starts this week. The carriageway will be closed in both directions between Firle Borstal junction and Burgh Lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 29 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A26 and the A22.

A27 Upper Brighton Road, Sompting, West Sussex: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road safety on the A27 starts this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 29 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A24, A259 and A2025 through Worthing. Access to Lyons Farm Retail park will be maintained at all times. A259 Pevensey, East Sussex; road marking replacement

Work to improve safety on the A259 between Pevensey and Bexhill-on-Sea continues this week. 4 way traffic lights will be in place on the Glyne Gap roundabout overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 29 February. Temporary traffic lights and a 40mph speed limit will be in place between Pevensey and Bexhill-on-Sea with road users being escorted past the works at 10mph overnight, between 8pm and 6am from Tuesday 1 March for 6 consecutive nights.

A2070 Ashford, East Sussex: road marking replacement

Work to improve safety on the A2070 between M20 junction 10 and Brenzett roundabout continues this week. Temporary traffic lights and a 40mph speed limit will be in place with road users being escorted past the works at 10mph on the single carriageway section of the A2070 between Brenzett Roundabout and the A2042/A2070 junction. Work will take place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 29 February for 7 consecutive nights.
