The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 22 Januarybut could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M2 junction 5, Stockbury, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to improve journeys on the M2 will start this week. A lane closure will be in place on the coastbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Wednesday 27 January for 2nights.

M20 junction 7, Bearsted, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to improve journeys on the M20 will start this week. Overnight closures, between 8pm and 6am, will be in place as follows:

  • Tuesday 26 January: lane closures will be in place on the coastbound carriageway.
  • Wednesday 27 January: lane closures will be in place on the London-bound carriageway.
  • Thursday 28 January: the coastbound exit slip road and the London-bound entry slip road will be closed.
  • Friday 29 January: the London-bound exit slip road and the coastbound entry slip road will be closed.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next available junction for slip road closures.

M20 junctions 9 to 10, Ashford, Kent: drainage investigation

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out drainage investigations will take place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the coastbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Wednesday 27 January.

A2/M25, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway investigation work will start this week. All closures will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, as follows.

On Monday 25 January: The exit slip road on the London-bound carriageway will be closed. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2 and A282. In addition, there will be a lane closure on the Londonbound main carriageway.

On Tuesday 26 January: The M25/A2 coastbound entry and London-bound exit slip roads will be. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A2 London-bound carriageway and the A282.

A2 Canterbury to Dover, Kent: road marking reinstatement

Work to improve safety on the A2 will start this week. Two way traffic lights will be in place between the Whitfield Roundabout and Green Lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 25 January for 2 nights. Lane closures will be in place in both directions between the A260 and Coldharbour Lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 26 January.

A21 Barnetts Wood, Kent: drainage investigation

Work to improve journeys by carrying out drainage surveys will start this week. Lane closures will be in place in both directions between Philpots Lane and the Medway viaduct overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 25 January. A lane closure will be in place on the London-bound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 26 January.

A21 Tonbridge to Pembury, Kent: major improvement

Work to improve journeys on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury will continue this week. The carriageway will be closed in both directions between the A228 and Vauxhall interchange overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 28 January for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A228 and the A26.

A23 Pyecombe Cutting, East Sussex: Geotechnical work

Work to maintain safety on the A23 will start this week. The A281/A23 coastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 25 January for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the London-bound A23.

A27 Selmeston, East Sussex: footpath resurfacing

Work to improve the footpath between Salvidge Service Station and the Village Road junction willtake place this week. Two way traffic lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 25 January for 5 nights.

A27 Patcham, East Sussex: Expansion joint repair

Work to maintain road user safety will start this week. The Patcham Court Farm overbridge will be closed in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Tuesday 26 January for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27.
