Planned roadworks in Kent and Sussex: weekly summary for Monday 19 October to Sunday 25 October 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 16 October but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M2 junctions 4 Gillingham to 6 Faversham, Kent: joint and bearing replacement

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking bridge joint and bearing replacement on the M2 between junctions 4 (Gillingham) and 6 (Faversham) will continue this week. There will be a carriageway closure in both directions between junctions 5 and 6, overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 19 October. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A251, M20 and the A249. In addition, there will be 24 hour hard shoulder closures and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways.

The local roads Mount Lane and Bottom Pond Road will be closed underneath the motorway until October. Clearly signed diversions will be in place for these local roads.

M20 junction 7 Detling, Kent: drainage investigation

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking drainage investigations on the M20 at junction 7 will continue this week. There will be lane one closures in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 19 October for 5 nights.

M20 junctions 8 Maidstone to 9 Ashford, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking carriageway investigations on the M20 between junctions 8 and 9 will start this week. There will be lane closures on the London-bound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 19 October for 3 nights. There will be lane closures on the coastbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 22 October for 2 nights.

A20/A260 Courtwood, Dover, Kent: drainage repair

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out drainage repairs continues this week. There will be a lane closure with one lane remaining open between White Horse Hill junction and Courtwood interchange overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 19 October for 2 consecutive nights. Work is due to be complete at the end of October.

A21 Tonbridge to Pembury, Kent: major improvement work

Work to improve journeys on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury will continue this week.

The London-bound entry and exit slip roads at Vauxhall Interchange will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 19 October for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2014 and the A26. In addition, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Vauxhall and Longfield overnight, between 8pm and 6am, during the same period.
