The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 13 November but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M2 junctions 3 Chatham to 5 Stockbury, Kent: resurfacing

Work to maintain journeys by resurfacing sections of the carriageway on the M2 between junctions 3 (Chatham) and 5 (Stockbury) will start this week.

The coastbound exit slip road at junction 4 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5am, from Monday 16 November for 4 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5 and return on the London-bound carriageway to junction 4.

The coastbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 4 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5am, on Friday 20 November. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5 and return on the London-bound carriageway to junction 4 for road users wishing to exit at junction 4. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the London-bound carriageway to junction 3 and return on the coastbound carriageway for road users wishing to join the M2.

The coastbound carriageway from the junction 3 entry slip road to the junction 4 exit slip road including the main carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5am, from Saturday 21 November for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A229 and the A249 to rejoin the M2.

M2 junctions 5 Stockbury to 6 Faversham, Kent: joint and bearing replacement

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking bridge joint and bearing replacement on the M2 between junctions 5 (Stockbury) and 6 (Faversham) will continue this week. There will be 24/7 hard shoulder closures and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways.

The local road Bottom Pond Road will be closed underneath the motorway until December. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for this local road.

M20 junctions 8 Maidstone to 9 Ashford, Kent: carriageway investigation

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking carriageway investigations on the M20 between junctions 8 and 9 will continue this week. There will be lane closures on the coastbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 16 November for 4 nights.

M20 junction 13 Folkestone, Kent: resurfacing

Work to improve the M20 junction 13 interchange by resurfacing it will start this week. The roundabout adjacent to the coastbound carriageway at junction 13 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 16 November for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place during the closure.

A2 Boughton Street, Kent: drainage investigation

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out drainage surveys will start this week. There will be lane closures on both carriageways between Brenley Corner and Dunkirk overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 16 November for 4 nights.

A2 Canterbury to Dover, Kent: road marking renewal

Work to improve safety by renewing the road markings will continue this week. The London-bound carriageway will be closed between Barham and Patrixbourne overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 16 November for 5 nights. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am for the first 2 nights and will be between 10pm and 6am for the remaining nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A256 and A299.

A21 Tonbridge to Pembury, Kent: major improvement work

Work to improve journeys on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury will continue this week.

The coastbound carriageway will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads at Vauxhall overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 16 November for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

The coastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Wednesday 18 November for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A26 and A228.

A21 Dibden, Kent: vegetation clearance

Work to improve journeys on the A21 at Dibden near Sevenoaks will start this week. A lane will be closed on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Saturday 21 November for 2 nights.

A23 Airport Way, Gatwick Airport, West Sussex: resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing the A23 will start this week. The A23 Airport Way will be closed between Gatwick North Terminal and junction 9 of the M23 overnight, between 8pm and 4am, from Monday 16 November for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A23 London Road, A2011 and M23.
