Planned roadworks in Kent and Sussex: weekly summary for Monday 11 January to Sunday 17 January 2016
Planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week.

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 8 January but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M2 junction 6, Maidstone, Kent: carriageway investigation
Work to maintain road user safety on the M2 will start this week. There will be overnight closures, between 8pm and 6am, on the London-bound exit slip road and the coastbound entry slip road as follows:
- Monday 11 January: the London-bound exit slip road and the coastbound entry slip road
- Tuesday 12 January: the London-bound entry slip road and the coastbound exit slip road; in addition, there will be a lane one closure on both carriageways
- Wednesday 13 January: lane closures on the main carriageway in both directions
All work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next junction.
M20 junction 8, Hollingbourne, Kent: drainage investigation
Work to maintain road user safety on the M20 at junction 8 will start this week.
The coastbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 8 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 nights. In addition there will be lane closures on the coastbound carriageway.
The London-bound exit and entry slip roads at junction 8 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 14 January for 2 nights. In addition there will be lane closures on the London-bound carriageway.
Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next junction.
M20 Boughton Road, junction 8 to 9, Kent: expansion joint replacement
Work to maintain road user safety on the M20 overbridge at Boughton Road will start this week. The overbridge between Lenham Heath Road and the entrance to Chilston Park Hotel will be closed between 7am and 7pm from Monday 11 January for 5 days. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Lenham Heath Road, Headcorn Road, and Park Road. Work is due to be complete by Friday 15 January.
A2 Canterbury to Dover, Kent: road marking reinstatement and bridge joint replacement
Work to improve journeys by carrying out road marking and bridge joint replacement on the A2 will resume this week.
The London-bound carriageway between Barham and Patrixbourne will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 2 nights and also on Friday 15 January. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A256 and the A299.
The London-bound carriageway between Patrixbourne and Upper Harbledown will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Wednesday 13 January for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2050, A28 and the A2050.
A21 Tonbridge to Pembury, Kent: major improvement
Work to improve journeys on the A21 between Tonbridge and Pembury will continue this week.
The carriageway will be closed in both directions between the Vauxhall interchange and the A228 junction overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A228 and the A26.
Traffic lights will be in place between the Vauxhall interchange and Longfield Roundabout overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Thursday 14 January for 2 nights.

A27 Southwick Tunnel, West Sussex: routine maintenance
Work to maintain road user safety on the A27 at Southwick Tunnel will take place this week. Both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Friday 15 January for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A270 and the A293.
