Planned roadworks in East Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 31 July 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 junction 15 to 19, Northamptonshire: smart motorways preparatory work
Until summer 2015, there will be various restrictions in place to allow for the construction of a reinforced concrete barrier in the central reserve. These include speed restrictions, narrow lanes and hard shoulder running.
On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 August there will be a full closure of the southbound carriageway between junction 18 and junction 19 as well as the M6 to M1 southbound link road. Closures will be from 9pm to 6am on each night.
On Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August there will be a full closure of the northbound carriageway between junction 18 and junction 19. Closures will be from 9pm to 6am on each night.
M1 junction 19, Catthorpe interchange, Leicestershire: major improvement scheme
From Thursday 6 August (9pm to 6am Fri) and Friday 7 August (9pm to 8am Sat) the northbound and southbound carriageways at junction 19 near Swinford will be closed overnight for concrete works.
M1 junction 24/A50 Approach Economy scheme
From Monday 3 to Saturday 8 August the M1 northbound exit slip road will be closed each night from 8pm to 6am.

M1 junction 28 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway
Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the Smart Motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures. This week, the following full closures will be in place:
Monday 3 August:
- Northbound junction 28 an up and over
- Southbound junction 30 entry slip road closed
- Southbound junction 29 entry slip road closed
Tuesday 4 August:
- Northbound junction 29 an up and over
- Northbound junction 29a exit slip road closed
- Southbound junction 31 an up and over
- Southbound junction 30 exit slip road closed
Wednesday 5 August:
- Northbound junction 29 and up and over
- Southbound junction 30 exit slip road closed
- Southbound junction 29 entry slip road closed
Thursday 6 August:
- Northbound junction 28 exit slip road closed
- Northbound junction 29 and up and over
- Southbound junction 30 exit slip road closed
- Southbound junction 29a entry slip road closed
Friday 7 August:
- Southbound junction 30 exit slip road closed
- Southbound junction 29 entry slip road closed
No closures expected on the weekend.
Please note: Delays expected - southbound junction 31 and 30 on Friday 31 July at 6am to Saturday 1 August 10am. One lane will be open until 10am then 2 lanes open during the day.
M45, Dunchurch to junction 17 (M1), Northamptonshire/Warwickshire: Resurfacing
From Tuesday 4 August to 1 October there will be a 24/7 closure of the hard shoulder eastbound and lane 1 closure for overnight work between 8pm and 6am. A 50mph speed restriction will also be in place for duration of work.
A45, Doddington to Wilby Way, Northamptonshire: Drainage work
From Monday 3 to Saturday 8 August there will be a northbound carriageway closure between 8pm and 6am each night.
