The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 24 November but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 28 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway

Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.

On Monday 28 November, the M18 southbound carriageway to the M1 northbound link will be closed. The M1 southbound entry slip road at junction 34 will also be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.

On Tuesday 29 November, the M18 southbound to M1 northbound link will be closed, the M1 northbound junction 34 entry and exit slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.

On Wednesday 30 November, the M18 southbound to the M1 northbound link road and the M1 southbound entry slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.

On Thursday 1 December the M18 southbound to M1 northbound link road and the M1 exit slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.

On Friday 2 December, the M18 southbound to M1 northbound link road, the M1 junction 34 southbound entry slip road and the M1 entry slip road at junction 35a will all be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.

M1 junction 19 to 16, Northamptonshire: smart motorway

From Monday 25 November to Friday 25 November, the northbound carriageway will have two lanes closed between junctions 16 and 19 from 9pm to 6am.

From Monday 21 November to Friday 25 November, the southbound carriageway will have two lanes closed between junctions 16 and 19 from 9pm to 6am.

M1 junction 19, Leicestershire: road improvement scheme

On Thursday 1 December and Friday 2 December, lane one of the A14 eastbound and of the A14 westbound will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am.

On Thursday 1 December and Friday 2 December, the M1 southbound from the A14 diverge slip road to the M6 merge slip road and the M1 northbound from the M6 diverge slip road to the A14 merge slip road will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am. The M1 southbound to A14 link road and the M1 northbound to M6 link road remain open.

In all cases diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
