The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 10 March but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 28 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway

There are various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.

On Monday 13 March the northbound exit slips at junctions 29 and 33, southbound entry slip at junction 30 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Tuesday 14 March the northbound exit slip at junction 33, southbound entry slip at junction 30, southbound up and over at junction 34 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Wednesday 15 March the southbound exit slip at junction 29a, southbound entry slip at junction 31, northbound exit and southbound entry slips at junction 33, southbound up and over at junction 34 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Thursday 16 March the southbound exit slip at junction 29a, northbound entry and exit slips at junction 33, southbound up and over at junction 34 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Friday 17 March the southbound entry slip at junction 30, northbound exit slip at junction 33, southbound up and over at junction 34 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Saturday 18 March the northbound exit slip at junction 33 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

On Sunday 19 March the northbound entry slip at junction 33, northbound exit slip at junction 34, southbound entry slip at junction 34 and the M18 southbound to northbound M1 link will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.

M1 junction 19 to 16, Northamptonshire: smart motorway

On Monday 13 March from 9pm to 6am two lanes will be closed north and southbound between junctions 16 and 18. The carriageway will be closed southbound between junctions 19 and 18. Two lanes will also be closed southbound between junctions 21 and 20, along with the southbound entry slip at junctions 19 and 20, southbound exit slip at junction 19 and southbound exit slip at junction 18. Two lanes will be closed southbound from junctions 2 to 1 on the M6 as well as southbound entry slip on the M6 at junction 1.

On Tuesday 14 March from 9pm to 6am the carriageway will be closed southbound between junctions 19 and 18, as well as two lanes closed southbound between junctions 21 and 20. The southbound entry slip at junction 20, southbound entry and exit slip at junction 19 and southbound entry slip at junction 18 will also be closed. Two lanes will be closed southbound from junctions 2 to 1 on the M6 as well as southbound entry slip on the M6 at junction 1.

On Wednesday 15 March from 9pm to 6am two lanes will be closed north and southbound between junctions 16 and 18. The carriageway will be closed southbound between junctions 19 and 18. Two lanes will also be closed southbound between junctions 21 and 20, along with the southbound entry slip at junctions 19 and 20, southbound exit slip at junction 19 and southbound exit slip at junction 18. Two lanes will be closed southbound from junctions 2 to 1 on the M6 as well as southbound entry slip on the M6 at junction 1.

On Thursday 16 March from 9pm to 6am the carriageway will be closed southbound between junctions 19 and 18, as well as two lanes closed southbound between junctions 21 and 20. The southbound entry slip at junction 20, southbound entry and exit slip at junction 19 and southbound entry slip at junction 18 will also be closed. Two lanes will be closed southbound from junctions 2 to 1 on the M6 as well as southbound entry slip on the M6 at junction 1.

On Friday 17 March from 9pm to 6am two lanes will be closed north and southbound between junctions 16 and 18.

On Saturday 18 March from 9pm to 6am the carriageway will be closed northbound between junctions 18 and 19 and two lanes will also be closed northbound between junctions 16 and 18. The northbound entry and exit slip will be closed at junction 18 as well as the exit slip at junction 19.

On Sunday 19 March from 9pm to 6am the carriageway will be closed northbound between junctions 18 and 19 and two lanes will also be closed northbound between junctions 17 and 18. The northbound entry and exit slip will be closed at junction 18 as well as the exit slip at junction 19.
