Planned roadworks in East Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 10 October to Sunday 16 October 2016
Planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week.

The following summary of planned new and on-going road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 30 September but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 junction 32 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway
Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 32 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.
On Monday 10 October the northbound up and over at junction 34 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am. In addition, junction 35 of the southbound entry slip road will also be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Tuesday 11 October, the northbound entry slip road at junction 34 and the northbound exit slip road at junction 35a will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Wednesday 12 October, the northbound entry slip road at junction 35 and the northbound exit slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Thursday 13 October, the northbound exit slip road at junction 35 and the up and over on the southbound carriageway at junction 34 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Friday 14 October, the northbound up and over at junction 35 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Saturday 15 October, the southbound up and over at junction 36 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am. In addition the southbound entry slip road at junction 35a and the southbound exit slip road at junction 35 will be closed from 8pm until 6am.
On Sunday 16 October, the southbound up and over at junctions 34 and 35 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October there will be daytime works between junctions 30 and 32 from 6am to 3pm.
M1 junction 19 to 16, Northamptonshire: smart motorway
From Monday 10 October to Saturday 15 October, the southbound carriageway will have two lanes closed between junctions 16 and 19 from 9pm to 6am.
From Monday 10 October to Saturday 15 October, the northbound carriageway will have two lanes closed between junctions 16 and 19 between 9pm and 6am.
A42, Leicestershire: carriageway repairs
Work will be taking place on the A42 from junction 13 (Ashby-de-la-Zouch) to the M1 junction at 23a (Castle Donington and the East Midlands Airport).
To complete the scheme, full carriageway closures will be required along with slip roads, with the following working hours:
- 21:00 to 06:00 on weeknights (Monday to Friday)
- 21:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Saturday and from 20:00 on Saturday evening through to 12:00 on Sunday for extended overnight shifts
