Planned roadworks in East Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 1 to Sunday 7 February 2016

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 29 January but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 28 to 35a, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire: smart motorway

Until winter 2016, there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the smart motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.

This week, the following closures will be in place:

  • Monday 1 February to Wednesday 3 February, the northbound exit slip road at junction 34, the southbound entry slip road at junction 35a and the southbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 28 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am
  • Monday, the M18 southbound to M1 northbound link road will also be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am
  • Thursday 4 February to Friday 5 February, the northbound exit slip road at junction 34, the southbound entry slip road at junction 35a and the northbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 28 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am
  • Saturday 6 February and Sunday 7 February, the northbound exit slip road at junction 34 and the northbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 28 will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am

Diversions will be clearly signposted.

M1 junction 19, Leicestershire: road improvement scheme

On Monday 1 February, the M1 northbound will be closed at junction 19, the M1 southbound will be closed from junction 20 and the A14-M1 northbound link road will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am.

On Wednesday 3 February, the M6 southbound will be closed at junction 1 between 9pm and 6am.

On Thursday 4 February, the M1 southbound will be closed at junction 20 and the M6 southbound will be closed at junction 1 (the entry slip road for A14 traffic will remain open) between 9pm and 6am.

A38: A516 to Findern, Derbyshire: carriageway repairs

The southbound carriageway will be closed from 8pm on Wednesday 3 February until 5am on Thursday 4 February.

A43 Brackley, Northamptonshire: carriageway resurfacing

The northbound carriageway will be closed between Buckingham Road roundabout and Northampton Road roundabout from Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 February between 8pm and 6am.

The southbound carriageway will be closed between Northampton Road roundabout and Buckingham Road roundabout will be closed overnight on Thursday 4 February and 24/7 from 8pm on Friday 5 February until 6am on Monday 8 February.

A45 junction 17 to 13, Northamptonshire: carriageway repairs

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight between junction 17 (Skew Bridge) and junction 13 (Wellingborough) from Monday 1 to Friday 5 February between 8pm and 6am.
