The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 26 August but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4a including junction 3 and 4 entry slip roads and junction 4 and 4a exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 30 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A332, A30 and A327.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a including junction 4 entry slip road and junction 4a exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 31 August for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A327.

The northbound carriageway including junction 5 and 4a entry slip roads and junction 4a and junction 4 exit slip roads as well as entry and exit from Fleet Services will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 31 August for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5, the A287, A30 and A331.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged sign at the junction takes place this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 2 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 7.

M3 junction 11 Winchester, Hampshire: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the barrier along the southbound slip road will start this week. The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 30 August for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

In addition, there will be narrow lanes in place 24 hours a day for the duration of the scheme.

M4 junctions 6 Windsor to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: surveying

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys along the M4 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 30 August for 4 nights.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 12 Theale, West Berkshire: communications technology replacement Work to improve journeys by replacing traffic flow sensors following recent resurfacing work takes place this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 1 September.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M4 junctions 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: surveying

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys along the M4 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 1 September.

M27 junction 3 Southampton, Hampshire: utility diversion

Work to maintain safety by diverting utility cables as part of a scheme to replace the A3057 Romsey Road bridge continues this week. Narrow lane running will be in place on the bridge during both day and night time hours until Friday 9 September.

M27 junctions 3 to 4 Southampton, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways, on the roundabout at junction 3 and on the slip roads at Rownhams Services overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 30 August for 3 nights.

A3 Weston, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. The southbound entry slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 30 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Petersfield roundabout.

In addition, lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 31 August.

A3 Liss, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. The northbound entry slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 31 August.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Weston junction.

A3 Ham Barn to Longmoor, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the northbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 1 September.

A3 Longmoor, Hampshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged sign at the junction takes place this week. The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 31 August.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Ham Barn roundabout.

A3 Grayshott, Hampshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged sign at the junction takes place this week. Lane 1 of the southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 30 August.

A34 / M40 junction 9 Bicester, Oxfordshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the southbound exit slip road at the junction and on the A34 southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 30 August.

A34 Oxford to Islip, Oxfordshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 31 August.

A34 Oxford, Oxfordshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will take place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the southbound carriageway between the Botley and Peartree Interchanges overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 1 September for 2 nights.

A34 Milton Interchange, Oxfordshire: signage

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged sign at the junction takes place this week. The southbound exit slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 1 September.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via West Ilsley.
