The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 01 July but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 including junction 3 entry slip road and clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads from the M3 junction 2 northbound to M25 junction 12 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 4 July for 4 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 8 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and M25.

The northbound and southbound entry slip roads at junction 4a will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 4 July for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the northbound entry slip road via the A327, A30 and A331. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the southbound entry slip road via the A327, A30 and A287.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4a and 4 including junction 4a entry slip road and junction 4 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 9 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A327, A30 and A331.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a including junction 4 entry slip road and junction 4a exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 9 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A327.

M3 junctions 9 Winchester to 7 Basingstoke, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. The northbound M3 from junction 9 to junction 8 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 5 July for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A34 and A303.

Access to Winchester Service Area will be unavailable during these closures.

M3 junctions 13 Eastleigh to 11 Winchester, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. Lanes 1 and 2 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 7 July.

In addition, the northbound exit slip roads at junctions 12 and 11 will be closed during the same period. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 10.

M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junction 6 Windsor, Berkshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the westbound exit slip road finishes this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 8 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 7.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading/Wokingham, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M27 junctions 3 to 5 Southampton, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M27 continues this week. The eastbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 5 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 4 July for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3057 towards Romsey, then the A27 through North Baddesley and Chilworth.

M27/M275 Portsmouth, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M27 continues this week. The westbound carriageway between Hilsea and M27 junction 11 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 7 July for 3 nights (Monday to Friday only). In addition, the link from the M275 northbound to the M27 westbound will be closed during the same period.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27 for the M27 closure and via the A3 Northern Parade for the M275 link closure.

A3 Longmoor to Hazel Grove, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to maintain safety by resurfacing the carriageway finishes this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 5 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place from Longmoor to Hogs Back via the A325 and A31.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: maintenance

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out tunnel maintenance takes place this week. The Hindhead Tunnel southbound bore will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 4 July for 5 nights. Traffic will be diverted through the northbound bore in contraflow.

A34 Tothill to Highclere, Hampshire: bridge barrier repair

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking bridge maintenance will take place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 7 July.

A34 Chieveley, West Berkshire: bridge barrier repair

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking bridge maintenance will take place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 8 July.

A34 Beedon, West Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the northbound carriageway between Beedon and East Ilsley starts this week.

The northbound carriageway between the M4 junction 13 roundabout at Chieveley and East Ilsley will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 6 July for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Hungerford and Wantage, re-joining the A34 at the Milton Interchange. Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be diverted via M4 junction 8/9, the A404 and M40.

A34 Oxford (Botley Interchange), Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the Botley Interchange junction continues this week. The north and southbound exit slip roads at the Botley Interchange will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Sunday 17 July (Monday to Sunday). Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Peartree and Hinksey Hill Interchanges.
