Planned new and ongoing roadworks over the coming week.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contra-flow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures will be in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until autumn 2015.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 8 Popham, Hampshire: bridge waterproofing

Work to improve safety by replacing bridge waterproof membranes and expansion joints begins this week. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place in both directions between junctions 6 and 8 until mid-December.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 7 and 8 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 5 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A303 and A34.

M4 junctions 7 Slough to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: street lighting

Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the lighting columns near Maidenhead continues this week. Lane closures will be in place in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 August for 5 nights.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: junction improvement

Work to ease congestion by widening the slip roads and remarking lanes at the junction continues this week. 24 hour narrow lanes are in place on the link roads joining the A329(M) in both directions. In addition, lane closures will be in place on the link roads overnight, between 9pm and 6am, (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: railway bridge repair

Work to maintain safety by replacing the joint and waterproofing material on the Mortimer Line Railway Bridge continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 5 August to change the layout of the traffic management. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4 Bath Road and the A33. In addition, narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place 24/7 on both carriageways, with lane closures in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday only) on nights not affected by the carriageway closure. Work is due to be completed in September.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: bridge repair

Work to maintain safety and improve journeys by replacing bridge joints and beams at the Chieveley Interchange and Welford Viaduct continues this week. Both carriageways between junctions 12 and 14 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 5 August. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 6 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4 through Hungerford, Newbury and Theale. In addition, 24 hour narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit are in place on both carriageways between junctions 13 and 14. Work is due to be completed in September.

M27 junction 1 Cadnam, Hampshire: slip road resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety to resurfacing the M27 junction 1 slip roads takes place this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 August for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A336 and A326.

M27 junction 3 Nursling, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion continues this week. The westbound exit and entry slip roads, the M271 southbound (between the A3057 Romsey Road roundabout and junction 3 of the M27), and the M271 northbound (between M271 junction 1 and M27 junction 3) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 4am, from Monday 3 August for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will remain in place until early August.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion on the northern side of the junction 5 roundabout is continuing this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 3 August for 10 nights (Monday to Friday only). Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junctions 7 and 2.

Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will remain in place until completion in late August.

M275 Hilsea to Tipner Portsmouth, Hampshire: drainage maintenance

Work to maintain safety by cleaning drainage gullies along the M275 takes place this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 5 August. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 6 August for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3 and A2030.

A3 Liphook to Ham Barn, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the A3 in Hampshire continues this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 August for 4 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070 and B3006.

A3 Flexcombe to Chalton, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 7 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070, A272 and A32.

A31 Cadnam to Ashley Heath, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing sections of the A31 carriageway between Cadnam and Ashley Heath takes place this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed between the Ashley Heath roundabout and M27 junction 2 at Ower overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 4 August for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A326, A35 and A338.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A303 Micheldever, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway at the Micheldever Station junction continues this week. The eastbound carriageway between the exit for the A34 (Bullington Cross) and the M3 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 3 August. The westbound carriageway along the same section will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 4 August. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A34 and A33 for non-motorway vehicles and the A34 and M3 for motorway permitted vehicles.

A303 Andover, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway at Andover and Barton Stacey starts this week. The westbound carriageway between the A34 (Bullington) and the A343 (Churchill Way/Monxton) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Wednesday 5 August for 2 nights. The eastbound carriageway along the same section will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 7 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A343, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Wash Common and A34.

A404 Bisham roundabout, Maidenhead, Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway of the Bisham roundabout and its approaches starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on the A404 northbound and southbound approaches overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 August for 5 nights.

A404 Marlow, Buckinghamshire: street lighting

Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the lighting columns will start this week. A lane closure will be in place on the north and southbound slip roads at the Westhorpe Interchange overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 4 August for 2 nights.

A404(M) Maidenhead, Berkshire: carriageway survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Wednesday 5 August.
