M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between junction 4a and 3 overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Monday 24th August 2015. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

The southbound carriageway will be closed between junction 4 and 4a overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 25 August for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between junction 4a and 3 overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 27th August 2015. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures will be in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until autumn 2015.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 9 Winchester, Hampshire: bridge waterproofing

Work to improve safety by replacing the bridge’s waterproof surface and expansion joints begins this week. Narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place in both directions between junctions 6 and 8 until mid-December.

The junction 6 northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 24 August. A diversion via junction 5 will be in place.

The northbound M3 carriageway between junctions 9 (Winchester) and junction 6 (Basingstoke) will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 25 August for 3 nights. A diversion will be in place via the A34, A303 and A30.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: junction improvement

Work to ease congestion by widening the slip roads and remarking lanes at the junction continues this week. 24 hour narrow lanes are in place on the link roads joining the A329(M) in both directions. Work is due to be completed by the end of September.

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: railway bridge repair

Work to maintain safety by replacing the joint and waterproof surface on the Mortimer Line railway bridge continues this week. Lane closures are in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed this week.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: bridge repair

Work to maintain safety and improve journeys by replacing bridge joints and beams at the Chieveley Interchange and Welford Viaduct continues this week. 24-hour narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit are in place on both carriageways between junctions 13 and 14. In addition, lane closures are in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only. Work is due to be completed in late-September.

M27 junctions 2 Ower to 3 Nursling, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing sections of the M27 carriageway takes place this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 26 August for 2 nights. A signed diversion will be in place via junction 3.

M27 junction 3 Nursling, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion continues this week. The westbound exit and entry slip roads, the M271 southbound (between the A3057 Romsey Road roundabout and junction 3 of the M27), and the M271 northbound (between M271 junction 1 and M27 junction 3) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 4am, from Monday 24 August for 4 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion on the northern side of the junction 5 roundabout is continuing this week. Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will remain in place until the morning of Friday 28 August.

A3 Hog’s Back to Thursley, Surrey: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the A3 in Surrey takes place this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 24 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A31 and A325.

A3 Longmoor to Compton, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 25 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A325 and A31.

A3(M) junction 3 Hulbert Road to junction 5 Bedhampton, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing the A3(M) southbound carriageway begins this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 August for 8 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2150 and B2177.

A31 Ashley Heath to Cadnam, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing sections of the A31 carriageway between Cadnam and Ashley Heath continues this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed between the Ashley Heath roundabout and M27 junction 2 at Ower overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 24 August for 6 nights (Monday to Thursday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338, A35 and A337.

A34 Chieveley, West Berkshire to Milton, Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing a section of the A34 northbound carriageway near Beedon takes place this week. The A34 northbound carriageway will be closed from the M4 junction 13 interchange to the Milton Interchange overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 27 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M4 junction 8/9, A404 and M40. This closure incorporates works being undertaken by Oxfordshire County Council at the Milton interchange.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. In addition the A34 northbound carriageway will be closed from the M4 junction 13 interchange to the Milton Interchange overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 27 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M4 junction 8/9, A404 and M40. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A303 Popham to Micheldever, Hampshire: surveys and safety barrier repairs

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys and maintaining the safety barrier continues this week. A lane on both the east and westbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 24 August for 4 nights.

In addition, the eastbound entry slip road at Micheldever will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 26 August with a clearly signed diversion in place via Bullington Cross.

The westbound entry slip road at Overton will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 27 August with a clearly signed diversion in place via the Micheldever junction.

A303 Andover, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway at Andover and Barton Stacey continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed between the A3093 (Picket Twenty) and the A343 (Churchill Way/Hundred Acre) overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Tuesday 22 September (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Andover ring road. Work is expected to be completed in mid-September.

A303 Thruxton, Hampshire to Parkhouse Cross, Wiltshire: survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out topographical surveys continues this week. A lane closure will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 August.
