The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 15 April but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 3 including junction 5, 4a and 4 entry slip roads will be closed overnight with no access to Fleet Services northbound, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Monday 18 April for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A287, A30 and A322.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 4a including junction 5 entry slip road will be closed overnight with no access to Fleet Services northbound, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 20 April for 2 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 22 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A287, A30 and A327.

The southbound exit slip road at junction 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 12am, on Wednesday 20 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 4 and return.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 including junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 23 March. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and M25.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 southbound and junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 7am, on Saturday 23 March. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 13 of the M25, the A30 and A322.

M3 junction 5 Hook, Hampshire: verge repair

Works to improve journeys by carrying out repairs on the verge completes this week. One lane of the southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 18 April.

M3 junction 11 Winchester, Hampshire: carriageway survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys to the carriageway takes place this week. A lane closure will be in place on the southbound entry slip road overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 19 April for 2 nights.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 12 Reading, Berkshire: carriageway survey and barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out carriageway surveys and repairs to the safety barrier completes this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 29 April.

M27 junction 3 and M271 Southampton, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve safety by laying anti-skid material on the M271 southbound carriageway completes this week. The M271 southbound carriageway between the junction 3 roundabout and the Lordshill roundabout will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 18 April for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A326 from M27 junction 2 through Totton then east on the A336.

M27 junctions 5 Eastleigh to 3 Rownhams, Hampshire: lane marking renewal

Work to improve journeys by renewing road markings starts this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 18 April for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27 via Chilworth and Romsey, then south on the A3057.

M27 junctions 5 Eastleigh to 7 Hedge End, Hampshire: lane marking renewal

Work to improve journeys by renewing road markings starts this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 21 April for 3 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27.

M27 junctions 9 Whiteley to 11 Portsmouth, Hampshire: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the central reserve barrier continues this week. Lane 3 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 20 May (Monday to Friday only).

A27 Hilsea to Warblington, Hampshire: street lighting and vegetation clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out vegetation clearance and installing new LED bulbs in the street lighting continues this week. Varied lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 29 April (Monday to Friday only).

A31 Ringwood to Cadnam, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve safety continues this week by resurfacing sections of the carriageway. The eastbound carriageway between Ringwood and Cadnam will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 26 April (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338 northbound to Salisbury, then south on the A36.

A34 Winchester to Bullington Cross, Hampshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by maintaining road signs will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 18 April for 4 nights. In addition, the southbound entry slip road and northbound exit slip road at Bullington Cross will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 21 April. Clearly signed diversion will be in place via the next available junction.

A34 Bullington Cross, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to maintain safety by maintaining the street lights starts this week. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the link road at the junction overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 21 April for 4 nights (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Bullington Cross to Beacon Hill/Highclere, Hampshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by maintaining road signs will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 21 April for 2 nights.

A34 Chilton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by constructing new slip roads and improving the layout of the Chilton interchange continues this week. A lane closure is in place on the northbound exit slip road at the junction overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until late spring (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed in summer 2016.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Lane closures will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the end of April (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A34 Milton to Marcham Interchanges, Oxfordshire: drainage and sign repair

Work to maintain safety by carrying out sign and drainage maintenance completes week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 22 April.

A303 Thruxton, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of both carriageways near Thruxton continues this week. The eastbound carriageway between the A338 Parkhouse Cross and A342 Hundred Acre will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 3 May (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338, Ludgershall and A342 Andover Road for all closures.

A303 Parkhouse Cross, Wiltshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the westbound exit slip road at the junction takes place this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 18 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the next junction at Amesbury.
