M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures will be in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until autumn 2015.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 9 Winchester, Hampshire: bridge waterproofing

Work to improve safety by replacing bridge waterproof membranes and expansion joints begins this week. Narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place in both directions between junctions 6 and 8 until mid-December.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: junction improvement

Work to ease congestion by widening the slip roads and remarking lanes at the junction continues this week. The slip roads onto the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 4 nights. The same section will then be closed from 9pm on Friday 21 August through to 6am on Monday 24 August. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway and the Coppid Beech roundabout.

In addition, 24 hour narrow lanes are in place on the link roads joining the A329(M) in both directions.

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: railway bridge repair

Work to maintain safety by replacing the joint and waterproofing material on the Mortimer Line Railway Bridge continues this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 20 August to allow the traffic management to be altered. The westbound carriageway will then be closed overnight on Friday 21 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A33 and A4. In addition, 24 hour narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit are in place 24/7 on both carriageways, with lane closures in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed by the end of August.

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the M4 near Hermitage continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 20 August for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: bridge repair

Work to maintain safety and improve journeys by replacing bridge joints and beams at the Chieveley Interchange and Welford Viaduct continues this week. 24-hour narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit are in place on both carriageways between junctions 13 and 14. Work is due to be completed in September.

M4 junction 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings of the westbound carriageway near Swindon takes place this week. 2 lanes of the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 21 August.

M27 junction 3 Nursling, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion continues this week. The westbound exit and entry slip roads, the M271 southbound (between the A3057 Romsey Road roundabout and junction 3 of the M27), and the M271 northbound (between M271 junction 1 and M27 junction 3) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 4am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will remain in place until late August.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys and reduce congestion on the northern side of the junction 5 roundabout is continuing this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junctions 7 and 2.

Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will remain in place until completion in late August.

A3 Hog’s Back Guildford, Surrey: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing sections of the A3 in Surrey takes place this week. The southbound entry slip onto the A31 Hog’s Back will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 19 August for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3000.

A3 Griggs Green, Hampshire: slip road resurfacing

Work to improve safety by resurfacing slip roads along the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week. The north and southbound exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 2 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Longmoor or Liphook junctions.

A3(M) junction 3 Hulbert Road to junction 5 Bedhampton, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing the A3(M) southbound carriageway begins this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 13 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2150 and B2177.

A31 Ashley Heath to Cadnam, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing sections of the A31 carriageway between Cadnam and Ashley Heath continues this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed between the Ashley Heath roundabout and M27 junction 2 at Ower overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 11 nights (Monday to Thursday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A326, A35 and A338.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. In addition, the interchange will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 21 August (Monday to Friday only). During these closures southbound traffic will be diverted down and across the junction with northbound traffic being diverted between Chilton and Milton via the A4185 and A4130. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A303 Bullington to Micheldever, Hampshire: surveys

Work to improve journeys by carrying out surveys starts this week. A lane on both the east and westbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. In addition, the lay-bys at the Overton junction will be closed from 10pm on Monday 17 August through to completion of the surveys on the morning on Saturday 22 August. Alternative lay-bys are available to the west of the Overton junction.

A303 Andover, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway at Andover and Barton Stacey continues this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed between the A343 (Churchill Way/Hundred Acre) and A3093 (Picket Twenty) overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Wednesday 19 August. The same section of the westbound carriageway will then be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 20 August until Monday 21 September (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Andover ring road. Work is expected to be completed in September.

A303 Andover to Thruxton, Hampshire: survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out topographical surveys starts this week. A lane closure will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights.

A404 Bisham Roundabout, Maidenhead, Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway of the Bisham roundabout and its approaches continues this week. Both carriageways between the A4155 Westhorpe Interchange and the A4130 Burchetts Green junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 17 August for 3 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the M4, M25 and M40 and via Henley-on-Thames for local residents and non-motorway users.
