The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 12 February but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The southbound carriageway between the slip roads at junction 2 and the anticlockwise M25 link road to the southbound M3 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Monday 15 February for five nights. On Friday work will take place between 9pm and 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 11 roundabout.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 – including the junction 3 entry slip road – will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Monday 15 February for five nights. On Friday work will take place between 9pm and. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322 and A30.

M27 junction 4 Eastleigh, Hampshire: lighting column replacement

Work to improve safety by replacing lighting columns in the central reserve of the M27 takes place this week. Both east and westbound carriageways will be closed between the junction 4 slip roads overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M3 junction 12.

M275 Portsmouth, Hampshire: carriageway maintenance

Work to maintain safety on the M275 begins this week.

The southbound carriageway between the M27 at Hilsea and the Rudmore roundabout will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 10 nights.

The northbound carriageway between Rudmore Roundabout and the M27 at Hilsea will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 16 February for 2 nights.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A2030.

M4 junctions 5 to 6 Slough, Berkshire: street lighting and drainage surveys

Work to maintain safety by undertaking drainage surveys and replacing the current lights with new LED lights will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: signs

Work to keep road users informed by working on the road signage at the junction will start this week. Lane closures will be in place at the junction overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 2 nights.

M4 junctions 10 Wokingham to 11 Reading, Berkshire: bridge installation

Work to improve journeys by installing the new Reading University Bridge near Shinfield continues this week. The M4 between junctions 10 and 11 will be closed in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 18 February for 3 consecutive nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3270 and A329(M).

The new bridge is being installed over the M4, as part of the construction of the new Shinfield Eastern Relief Road, by HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction on behalf of the University of Reading. For further details visit the scheme page.

M4 junctions 13 Chieveley to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: drainage surveys

Work to maintain safety by carrying out CCTV surveys of the drainage system along the M4 will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 15 February.

A3 Chalton, Hampshire: slip road sign repair

Work to improve safety by repairing a damaged sign takes place this week. The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 16 February. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via A3(M) junction 1.

A31 Bere Regis to Red Post, Dorset: drainage maintenance

Work to improve drainage along the A31 in Dorset continues this week. The A31 will be closed in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February until the end of March (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place from the Roundhouse roundabout via the A350 and A35. Access will be maintained for residents living within the closure and managed locally on site.

A34 Three Maids Hill, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to maintain safety by replacing the current lights for new LED lights will take place this week. The southbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 16 February, with traffic being diverted via the next available junction.

A34 Whitchurch, Hampshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged road sign along the A34 will take place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 19 February.

A34 Tot Hill Services, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to maintain safety by replacing the current lights for new LED lights will take place this week. The northbound exit slip road and access to/from the service area will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Wednesday 17 February. Traffic for the B4640 will be diverted via the next junction. Access will be maintained for hotel guests only.

A34 Beacons Hill/Highclere, Hampshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged road sign along the A34 will take place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 19 February.

A34 Speen, West Berkshire: street lighting

Work to maintain safety by replacing the current lights for new LED lights will take place this week. The southbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Monday 15 February, with traffic being diverted via the next available junction.

A34 Chilton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by constructing new slip roads and improving the layout of the Chilton interchange continues this week. The northbound exit slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the Easter Bank Holiday weekend (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed in summer 2016.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A34 Botley to Peartree Interchanges, Oxfordshire: parapet repairs

Work to maintain journeys by undertaking maintenance to the bridge parapets near Godstow will start this week. One lane on both the north and southbound carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Weston-on-the-Green, Oxfordshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by repairing a damaged road sign along the A34 will take place this week. One lane on the southbound carriageway and the exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 18 February.

A303 Popham to Micheldever, Hampshire: structures inspection and barrier repair

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structure surveys and barrier repairs takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 4 nights.

A404 Handy Cross (M40 junction 4), Buckinghamshire: drainage surveys

Work to maintain safety by carrying out CCTV surveys of the drainage system around the junction will take place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the roundabout and all approach roads overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights.
