Planned roadworks in Central Southern England: Weekly summary for Monday 13 April – Sunday 19 April 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 10 April 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M27 junction 2 Ower, Hampshire: Carriageway resurfacing

The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for ten nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 1.

M27 junction 3 Nursling, Hampshire: Junction improvement

The following slip road and carriageway closures will take place overnight, between 10pm and 4am, as follows:

  • Monday 13 April for ten nights – westbound exit slip road
  • Monday 13 April for ten nights – M271 southbound (A3057 Romsey Road roundabout to M27 junction 3)
  • Saturday 18 April for two nights – M27 westbound between the slip roads

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3090 and junction 2.

The link road from the M27 eastbound carriageway to the M3 northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for five nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M27 junction 7.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will remain in place until June.

The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for ten nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 7.

M27 junction 12 Portsmouth, Hampshire: Lighting maintenance

The M27 westbound to M275 southbound link road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 14 April for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 11.

M3 junction 2 (Thorpe) to 4a (Fleet): Smart motorway improvement

Narrow lanes, a contra-flow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on both carriageways, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The following slip road closures will be in place overnight, (Mon-Thur 9pm – 5.30am, Fri 10pm – 6am), as follows:

  • Monday 13 April for one night – junction 4a westbound exit and entry slip roads
  • Tuesday 14 April for one night – junction 4 westbound exit and entry slip roads
  • Wednesday 15 April for three nights – junction 4 westbound entry slip road

The M3 will be closed east and westbound between the M3 junction 2 / M25 junction 12 slip roads for six consecutive nights from Monday 13 April (Mon-Thur 9pm – 5.30am, Fri 10pm – 6am, Sat 9pm – 6am). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M25 junctions 11 or 13.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit will remain in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until summer 2015.

M3 junctions 9 to 8 Winchester to Basingstoke: Resurfacing work

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A303 and A34.

M3 junctions 9 to 14 Winchester to Eastleigh, Hampshire: Carriageway resurfacing

Carriageway closures will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, as follows:

  • Monday 13 April – junctions 11 to 13 southbound carriageway
  • Tuesday 14 April – junctions 11 to 10 northbound carriageway
  • Tuesday 14 April for three nights – junctions 9 to 10 southbound carriageway
  • Friday 17 April – junctions 12 to 11 northbound carriageway

Clearly signed diversions will be in place.

In addition, the northbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 13 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for five nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 12.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: Drainage maintenance

Lane closures will be in place on the westbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Thursday 16 April.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: Junction improvement

Lane closures are in place on the link roads at junction 10 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until June.

The following slip roads will also be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, with clearly signed diversions in place:

  • Thursday 16 April – eastbound link roads to the A329(M) Reading bound carriageway
  • Friday 17 April – eastbound link roads to the A329(M) Wokingham bound carriageway

M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: Railway bridge repair

Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the end of April (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: Resurfacing

Lane closures will be in place on the westbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 8 May (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 12 to 14 Chieveley to Hungerford, West Berkshire: Bridge repair work

24 hour narrow lane contraflow and a 50mph speed limit are in place on both carriageways between junction 13 and junction 14 until July. There are also overnight lane closures.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Tuesday 14 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M4 junctions 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: Drainage maintenance and verge repairs

Various lane closures are in place in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until late April (Monday to Friday only).

A27 Hilsea to M27 junction 12 Portsmouth, Hampshire: Lighting maintenance

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for five nights from Wednesday 15 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Western Road.

A404(M) Maidenhead, Berkshire: Drainage maintenance

Lane closures are in place in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the end of May (Monday to Friday only).

A3 Dennis Interchange Guildford, Surrey: Lighting maintenance

The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 15 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Stoke Interchange.

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for five nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070.

A3M Purbrook, Hampshire: Slip road marking renewal

The junction 3 and 4 slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, as follows:

  • Tuesday 14 April – junction 3 southbound exit slip road
  • Tuesday 14 April – junction 4 northbound entry slip road
  • Wednesday 15 April – junction 3 northbound exit slip road
  • Wednesday 15 April – junction 4 northbound entry slip road

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Hulbert Way and the B2150.

A31 West Moors Ferndown, Dorset: Slip road marking renewal

The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Station Road and Ringwood Road.

A31 Merley to Lake Gates, Dorset: Carriageway resurfacing

Both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for two nights from Monday 13 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3074, A349 and A341.

A31 Bere Regis to Roundhouse Roundabout, Dorset: Drainage maintenance

The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 13 April until early June (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A350 and A35.

A34 Kings Worthy (Winchester), Hampshire: Construction of new lay-by

The existing lay-by on the northbound carriageway remains closed, and there are lane closures on the northbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, (Monday to Friday) until April.

A34 Chilton to Milton, Oxfordshire: Drainage maintenance

A lane closure remains in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the end of April (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Milton Interchange, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

Narrow lanes and speed limits of 40mph on the northbound carriageway and 30mph on the southbound carriageway will be in place throughout the week. The left hand lane of the southbound A34 will be diverted via the slip roads and the A4130 roundabout.

A34 Abingdon, Oxfordshire: Sign maintenance

A lane closure will be in place on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pmand 6am, from Monday 13 April for two nights.

A34/M40 junction 9 Wendlebury, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

The A34 northbound carriageway from the B430 Weston-on-the-Green to the M40 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the M40 junction 8a (for motorway permitted vehicles) and the A4095 between Woodstock and Bicester (for motorway restricted vehicles).
