The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 08 July but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The southbound carriageway from junction 2 to junction 3 including the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to M3 southbound and the junction 3 exit slip road southbound will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 July for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 13, A30 and A322. This closure may be extended to 3 nights if necessary.

The northbound carriageway between junction 4 and junction 3 including the junction 4 entry slip road and the junction 3 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 July for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331 and A30.

The exit slip road from the M3 junction 2 northbound to the M25 junction 12 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 July for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M3 northbound junction 2 to M25 anti-clockwise to the M25 junction 11 and return.

M3 junction 5 Hook, Hampshire: resurfacing and road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings and resurfacing the slip roads at the junction takes place this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 13 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6.

In addition, the southbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 14 July for 3 nights (Monday to Friday only). Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 6 and junction 4.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 8 Dummer, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 2 nights. M3 junction 12 Chandlers Ford, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the slip roads at the junction takes place this week. The northbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 3 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 11 and junction 13.

M3 junction 13 Eastleigh to Chilworth Interchange, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the lighting columns along the M3 starts this week. Lane 3 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junction 6 Windsor, Berkshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the westbound exit slip road finishes this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 15 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 7.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading/Wokingham, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire to 15 Swindon, Wiltshire: bridge survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways near Membury Service Area overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 13 July for 2 nights.

A3(M) Bedhampton, Hampshire: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to sections of the safety barrier between junction 4 and the A27 takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 12 July for 3 nights.

A3 Liss, Hampshire: signage repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the signage along the A3 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 11 July.

A3 Liphook, Hampshire: signage repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the signage along the A3 takes place this week. The southbound exit slip road at Griggs Green will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 11 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Liphook junction.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel, Surrey: maintenance

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out tunnel maintenance takes place this week. The Hindhead Tunnel southbound bore will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 5 nights. Traffic will run through the northbound bore in contraflow.

A27 Portsmouth, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A27 takes place this week. Lane 1 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 3 nights.

A31 Picket Post, Hampshire: signage repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the signage along the A31 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 13 July.

A31 Ashley Heath (Ringwood), Hampshire: barrier repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the barrier at the junction takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place at the roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 15 July.

A31 West Moors, Dorset: signage repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the signage along the A31 takes place this week. The westbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 12 July. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Ameysford and Palmersford roundabouts.

A31 Sturminster Marshall, Dorset: signage repair

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the signage along the A31 takes place this week. Temporary traffic lights will be in place along the A31 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 12 July.

A34 Winchester to Highclere, Hampshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A34 takes place this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 14 July for 7 nights (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Beedon, West Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the northbound carriageway between Beedon and East Ilsley continues this week. The northbound carriageway between the M4 junction 13 roundabout at Chieveley and East Ilsley will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 26 July (Monday to Friday only).

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Hungerford and Wantage, rejoining the A34 at the Milton Interchange. Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be diverted via M4 junction 8/9, the A404 and M40.

A34 Oxford (Botley Interchange), Oxfordshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the Botley Interchange junction finishes this week. The north and southbound exit slip roads at the Botley Interchange will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 July for 7 consecutive nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the Peartree and Hinksey Hill Interchanges.

A303 Longparish, Hampshire: signage repair

Work to keep road users informed by maintaining the signage along the A303 takes place this week. The eastbound exit slip road at Longparish will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 14 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Barton Stacey.

A303 Andover, Hampshire: sign repair

Work to keep road users informed by maintaining the signage along the A303 takes place this week. Lane 2 of the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 14 July.
