The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 8 January but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement
Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.
The northbound carriageway between junctions 4a and 2 including junction 4a, 4 and 3 entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 January for 5 nights. On Friday the closures will be in place between 10pm and 6am. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A327, A30 and M25.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement
Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures are in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until March 2016.
The northern section of the Black Dam roundabout including the A30 Ringway South eastbound, A339 north and southbound and A30 London Road eastbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 11 January for 6 consecutive nights. The A30 London Road east and westbound exit and entrance to the roundabout will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Sunday 17 January. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A30, A3010 and M3.

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading, Berkshire: street lighting
Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the street lighting along the M4 starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).
A27 Langstone Portsmouth, Hampshire: slip road lighting maintenance
Work to improve road user safety takes place this week with street light maintenance being carried out on the A27. The eastbound A27 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 14 January. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Bedhampton.
A31 Bere Regis to Red Post, Dorset: drainage maintenance
Work to improve drainage along the A31 in Dorset continues this week. The A31 will be closed in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January until the end of March (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place from the Roundhouse roundabout via the A350 and A35. Access will be maintained for local residents and managed locally on site.
A34 Winchester to Bullington, Hampshire: sign maintenance and drainage survey
Work to improve road user journeys by maintaining the signage and drainage system along the A34 starts this week. Various lane closures will be in place on both the north and southbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).
A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement
Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the signage and drainage system along the A34 starts this week. Various lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).
A34 Marcham (Abingdon), Oxfordshire: resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will take place this week. The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Oxford ring-road.
A34 Hinksey Hill to Botley, Oxfordshire: resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will take place this week. The northbound carriageway between the Milton interchange and Marcham interchange will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 15 January. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A417 and A338, re-joining the A34 at the Botley Interchange.
A404 Burchetts Green to Bisham, West Berkshire: resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will start this week. A lane of the northbound carriageway and the Hurley Lane lay-by will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 11 January for 3 nights.
