M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4 including the clockwise and anticlockwise link roads from the M25 to the M3 and junction 3 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 8 September for 3 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 13 of the M25 and the A30 to the M3 junction 4. Traffic wishing to join the carriageway at junction 3 will be diverted via the A322 to A30 to junction 4.

M3 junction 6 Basingstoke, Hampshire: Black Dam improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times across the Black Dam roundabout near Basingstoke continues this week. Narrow lanes, a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures will be in place on the approaches and around the roundabout until autumn 2015.

M3 junctions 6 Basingstoke to 9 Winchester, Hampshire: Bridge waterproofing

Work to improve safety by replacing the bridge’s waterproof surface and expansion joints begins this week. Narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit will be in place in both directions between junctions 6 and 8 until mid-December.

The junction 6 southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 11 September. The junction 6 southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Saturday 12 September.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 5 and the A30.

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing communications cables begins this week. The southbound link road between the M3 and eastbound M27 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 10 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M27 junction 3.

M4 junctions 5 to 6 Slough, Berkshire: Street lighting

Work to maintain road user safety by replacing street lighting starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 4 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading, Berkshire: Resurfacing and road marking

Work to maintain road user safety by repainting the road markings and resurfacing a section of the eastbound carriageway continues this week. The westbound carriageway between junctions 8/9 and 10 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Thursday 10 September. This will then be followed by a closure along the same stretch of the eastbound carriageway overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Friday 11 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A404(M), A4 and A329(M).

In addition, lane closures will be in place on both carriageways between junction 8/9 and 11 overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 3 nights.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: Junction improvement

Work to ease congestion by widening the slip roads and remarking lanes at the junction continues this week. The slip roads and merge onto the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 3 nights with a clearly signed diversion in place via the Coppid Beech Roundabout.

The slip roads and merge onto the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 9 September for 2 nights with a clearly signed diversion in place via the Winnersh Triangle junction.

In addition, the slip roads and merge onto the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway will be closed from 9pm on Friday 11 September through to 6am on Monday 14 September. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway and the Winnersh Triangle junction. Work is due to be completed by the end of September.

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: Resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing a section of the M4 carriageway continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Monday 14 September, Monday to Friday only. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4 and A34.

M4 junctions 12 Theale to 14 Hungerford, West Berkshire: Bridge repair

Work to maintain safety and improve journeys by replacing bridge joints and beams at the Chieveley Interchange continues this week. 24-hour narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit are in place on both carriageways between junctions 13 and 14. In addition, lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Friday 25 September, Monday to Friday only.

Work to improve journeys by carrying out a structural survey starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

A3 Ham Barn Roundabout, Hampshire: Lighting maintenance

Work to maintain road user safety by maintaining lighting on the A3 in Hampshire takes place this week. The southbound B3006 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 11 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Flexcombe and the Farnham Road.

A3(M) junctions 1 Horndean to 3 Hulbert Road, Hampshire: Carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing the A3(M) southbound carriageway takes place this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A3 and B2150.

A27 Langstone to Warblington, Hampshire: Carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve road user safety by resurfacing sections of the A27 carriageway in Hampshire begins this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 9 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2149 and Emsworth Road.

A34 Litchfield, Hampshire to Newbury, West Berkshire: Vegetation clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out vegetation clearance takes place this week. A lane on both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 5 nights.

A34 Milton interchange, Oxfordshire: Junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by improving the layout of the Milton interchange continues this week. Narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit will be in place 24/7. Work is due to be completed in spring 2016.

A303 Popham to Micheldever, Hampshire: Vegetation clearance

Work to improve journeys by clearing the vegetation takes place this week. A lane on both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 2 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

A303 Andover, Hampshire: Carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway at Andover and Barton Stacey continues this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed between the A3093 (Picket Twenty) and the A343 (Churchill Way/Hundred Acre) overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Tuesday 15 September (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Andover ring road.

A303 Andover to Thruxton, Hampshire: Safety barrier repair

Work to maintain road safety starts on the A303 between Andover and Thruxton starts this week. There will be lane closures on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 7 September for 3 nights.

A303 Thruxton, Hampshire to Parkhouse Cross, Wiltshire: Resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of both carriageways near Thruxton Race circuit starts this week. A lane on both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 8 September for 6 nights (Monday to Friday only).
