Planned roadworks in and around the M25: Weekly summary for Monday 8 June to Sunday 14 June

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 5 June 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) – 3 Woking, Surrey: major improvement

Work to improve journeys as part of the M3 Smart motorway scheme continues this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 10 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 13 and A30 to join the M3 at junction 3.

M4 junctions 1 Chiswick to 3 Hounslow, Greater London: drainage work

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will continue this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 8 June for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4 and A312.

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 8 June for four nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M20 junction 2 Wrotham, Kent: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 9 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 4, the M26 and A20.

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 1.30am and 5am, on Wednesday 10 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A20 to M26.

M20 junction 1 (M25), Kent: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The westbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 11 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A20 to Crittals Corner and return. M20 junction 3 (M26), Kent: Litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 11 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A20.

M23 junction 8 (M25), Surrey: signage work

Work to improve safety starts this week. The northbound link road to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5.30am, on Friday 12 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6 of the M25.

M25 junction 3 Swanley, Kent: electrical work

Work to improve journeys by carrying out electrical work will start this week. The anti-clockwise carriageway between the exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 10 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the junction 2 of the M20.

M25 junction 8 Reigate, Surrey: signage work

Work to maintain safety will start this week. The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 8 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 9 and return.

The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 9 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via junction 9 and return. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 6 and return.

M25 junction 9 Leatherhead, Surrey: signage work

Work to maintain safety will start this week. The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 9 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 8 and return.

M25 junction 10 (A3), Surrey: signage work

Work to maintain safety will start this week. The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 10 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 9 and return.

M25 junction 12 (M3), Surrey: major improvement

Work to improve journeys as part of the M3 Smart motorway scheme continues this week. The clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 westbound will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 10 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the clockwise link road via junction 13 and theA30 to join the M3 at junction 3. The anti-clockwise diversion will be via junction 11 and then follow the clockwise diversion.

M25 junction 13 Staines, Surrey: signage work

Work to maintain safety will start this week. The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 11 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 14 and return.

M25 junction 14 Heathrow, Middlesex: signage work

Work to maintain safety will start this week. The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5.30am, on Friday 12 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 17 and return.

M25 junctions 19 Watford – 21a St Albans, Hertfordshire: structure survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structure surveys starts this week. The clockwise carriageway and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5am, on Saturday 13 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A417 and A405 to rejoin the M25 at junction 21a.

M25 junction 28 Brentwood, Essex: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the A12 continues this week. The clockwise dedicated link road to the A12 eastbound (for Brentwood) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 8 June for five nights. Work on Friday night will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be available via the junction 28 roundabout.

M25 junction 31 Lakeside, Essex: Dart Charge construction work

Work to improve journeys as part of the Dart Charge scheme will continue this week. The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Sunday 14 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 30.

A1(M) junction 2 Hatfield, Hertfordshire: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will continue this week. The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 8 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1001 to junction 3.

A3 Hook Bypass – A245 Painshill, Surrey: footbridge replacement

Work to improve safety by replacing a footbridge will start this week. The carriageway in both directions and the Esher entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 7am, on Saturday 13 June and between 10pm and 5.30am on Sunday 14 June. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A244, A307 and A309.

A13/M25 junction 30 Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety continues this week as part of a major scheme to widen the A13 and the M25 junction 30 roundabout and slip roads. Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place.

The eastbound carriageway between Wennington and North Stifford including the entry slip road from the M25 junction 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 8 June for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306, West Thurrock Arterial Road and A1012.

A21 Sevenoaks, Kent: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will continue this week. The northbound link road to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 8 June for five nights. Work on Friday night will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 anti-clockwise to junction 4 and return.

A282 junction 1a Swanscombe, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

Work to improve journeys as part of the Dart Charge scheme will continue this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8:30pm and 5.30am, on Monday 8 June and from Wednesday 10 June for four nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday via the A282 southbound to junction 2 and return. The diversion for Friday and Saturday will be via the A282 southbound to junction 1b and return.

A282 junction 1b Dartford, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

Work to improve journeys as part of the Dart Charge scheme will continue this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 8 June for four nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A282 southbound to junction 2 and return. A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: Maintenance work

Work to improve journeys at the Dartford Crossing will continue this week. The following closures will be in place, with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Monday 8 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel
  • Tuesday 9 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel
  • Wednesday 10 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel
  • Thursday 11 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Friday 12 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Saturday 13 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Sunday 14 June (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel closure

The QEII Bridge will have three (of four) lanes closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Sunday 14 June.
