Planned roadworks in and around the M25: Weekly summary for Monday 4 May - Sunday 10 May

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 1 May 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junctions 1 to 4, Greater London: carriageway resurfacing

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 6 May for three nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A406 to the Brent Cross interchange and A41.

M1 junction 6, Hertfordshire: carriageway resurfacing

The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 5 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the A405. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 5.

M1 junction 6a, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement work

The southbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 9 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5 and the A41 to join the M25 at junction 20.

M4 junction 4, Greater London: carriageway resurfacing

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 5 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 3.

M4 Spur Road, Greater London: carriageway resurfacing

The northbound link road to the M4 westbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 5 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 3 of the M4.

M4 junction 4b, Greater London: carriageway resurfacing

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 5 May for four nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 14 of the M25.

The westbound link road to the M25 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Saturday 9 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5.

M11 junction 4, Redbridge: electrical work

The southbound link road to the eastbound A406 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Tuesday 5 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Waterworks roundabout.

M11 junction 6, Essex: carriageway sweeping

The southbound link roads to the M25 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 6 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Waterworks roundabout.

M25 junctions 5 to 6 Clacket Lane Services, Surrey: carriageway resurfacing

The clockwise exit slip road to the Motorway Services Area will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 5 May for three nights. The next available services area on the clockwise carriageway is at Cobham Services between junctions 9 and 10.

M25 junction 7, Surrey: structure maintenance

The anti-clockwise link roads to the M23 in both directions will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 5 May for four nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6.

M25 junction 21a, Hertfordshire: carriageway repair

The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 11.30pm and 5am, on Tuesday 5 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 20.

M25 junctions 21a to 20, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement work

The anti-clockwise carriageway, including the dedicated link road to the M1 northbound and junction 21a anti-clockwise entry slip road, will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 9 May. A clearly signed diversion for traffic wishing to use the M1 northbound will be in place via junction 21a, the A405 and A414. A clearly signed diversion for the anti-clockwise carriageway and junction 21a entry slip road will be in place via the A405 and A41.

M25 junction 27, Essex: carriageway sweeping

The anti-clockwise link roads to the M11 in both directions will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 7 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 26.

M25 junction 28, Essex: resurfacing

The clockwise dedicated link road to the A12 eastbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Tuesday 5 May for four nights. A clearly signed diversion will be available via the junction 28 roundabout.

M25 junction 31, Essex: Dart Charge construction work

The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Thursday 7 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 30.

M26 junction 2a to M25, Kent: resurfacing

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 5 May for four nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A25 and A21 to join the M25 at junction 5.

A2 Dartford Heath, Kent: horticulture work

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 5 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A2 eastbound to Bean.

A13/M25 junction 30, Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place.

A13 Wennington to North Stifford, Essex: major improvement

The eastbound carriageway including the entry slip road from the M25 junction 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 5 May for four nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306, West Thurrock Arterial Road and A1012 to A13 North Stifford junction.

A282 junction 1a, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8:30pm and 5.30am, on Monday 4 May and from Wednesday 6 May for five nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via A282 southbound to junction 1b and return.

A282 junction 1b to 2, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Thursday 7 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the link road to junction 2.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: maintenance work

The following closures will be in place, with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Tuesday 5 May (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound east tunnel closure
  • Wednesday 6 May (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Thursday 7 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Friday 8 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Saturday 9 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Sunday 10 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure

The QEII Bridge will have three (of four) lanes closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Thursday 7 May for two nights.
